  • What damage did you sustain at the GTG?

Popped the bumper off on Billy Goats Ridge.
Went back into place no problems...

Found a slow leak in the front left tyre thismorning... Dropped from 40 psi to 18 over three days.

VIC stones don't like me... copped a small stone chip in the windscreen on the way home.

Oh, and whacked my knee on a hidden stone on Billy Goats Ridge
Lastly, broke the arm of my glasses. They didn't like being tucked into the beenie at Bendleby.
    Cheers, Leon

First night at Bendleby I rolled my foot in a hole ( stone cold sober I might add) and tore ligaments in my ankle.

Bent one of the front recovery points quite severely on Billy Goat Ridge and stoved in the middle bash plate under the bar at Beachport I'm guessing.

Sustained some bad scratches to the sides of the car that won't polish out and picked up a new stone chip in the windscreen.

All in all, not a bad trip

Oh yes, I forgot about the pin striping... that's because I haven't cleaned the car yet

mmmmm let me see.... A perfectly good MT ATZ 4rib spiked at 22psi...... so much for the re-inforced sidewalls and 10-ply!!!!! Oh and not to mention lugs out of all the other tyres, plus lugs out of the brand new one!!!!!

            AMTS bashplate took a hammering.....

Pride tok a hammering also after MLC's team decided to di some extremely large holes for Dodgy at the to of a dune, leaving him to run a "Training session" for his team, including running the trainign session for the Pajero team that took the chicken track

Front fuel tank bash plate got a bit of a touch up on Billy Goats I assume.
Think we can live with that.
AMTS bash plate got rubbed on the Border Track dry mud holes.
Like most a few pinstripes were added around the dunes at Beachport and Robe.
              Cheers Troy

There were larger rabbit holes on the track, besides, I/we deny everything unless photographic evidence exists to prove to the contrary.

Next thing you know my group will be accused of zip tieing gates in front of AJ's group, placing large tractor tyres on the track in front of Ian & Trev's group and turning AJ's camper top into the local swimming pool........

As I went to reach for the camera to see the perfectly dug holes, the 4 wheels dropped heavily inot them, causing the chasis to drop hard onto sand and all wheels to loose traction, as a result the camera fell from my hands onto the floor......best I have is a picture of the steering wheel

Must have crunched a synchro or something as I couldn't get the car out of low range on the first day. A lot of man handling and it finally came out. Not wanting to spoil the trip by being locked in low range, I did the rest of the GTG in high range. I need to pull the transfer case out now.

Also - the typical scratching we get here in SA. I don't bother polishing them out. I'll do that when I detail the car to sell it in a few years.

Other than this, the rig did well. I did kill a battery in the camper trailer, but we're talking about cars here, not campers

A slight touchup on the ARB Plates, the last plate took a slight knock in the trenches of the border Track.

Didn't you also lose a few feet in the body length? It's the shortest Prado I have ever seen The pin striping will buff out if you have any that is.

Well the FJ maybe shorter, but only just. Its width is almost an inch more on a 150 so I was behind the 8ball to begin with but overall scratches couldn't be helped.
