    • I just got my 2014 GXl lifted after the rear shocks started weeping at 105,000kms:

Dual Battery, Airtech Snorkle, ARB Bash Plates and Polyair Bags only mods:

TJM XGS4000, Comfort front coils and +250kg Medium Rear coils with spacers for the Airbags

      Before
      Front 755
      Rear 795
Roof height 1940 (Rhino Cross Bar)

      After
      Front 795
      Rear 850
Roof height 1995 (Rhino Cross Bar)

There is about 1/2 Tank of fuel and 20mm rake on the side step, plan on towing a 2T Camper with 5 People, rides really nice unladen so should be epic with a load on.

      • Just fitted the 3rd set of springs to my car, and finally happy with the ride & ride height.

Initial setup was; 2013 V6 GXL, steel ARB bar. 265/70/17, stock everything else.

        Ride heights (b4) were ;
        Front : 745
        Rear : 780

First set were C59-352 & C59-327, specced due to my monthly tow of a 2400kg enclosed trailer.
These proved to be too firm, and sat way too high at the front.
        Front : 830 (!!)
        Rear : 850

A month or two to let them settle in and an 800 km tow test, and springs were too hard for my liking. Towing didn't even need the helper airbags I had fitted at same time.

So swapped these to C59-350 & C59-325 which cured the rear end stiffness when unloaded.
Happy with rears now, though front still too high at (again) 830 with rear dropping to 840.

Gave this a good 6+ months to see if it settled any, but still 825mm front so time for front set number 3.

This time it was C59-302 which have dropped front ride height to just over 805. Imagine they will settle 5mm like the other sets have, so will put me pretty close to 800, which is my desired height.

So a bit of messing around, but got there in the end.
Once again a huge thanks to John Zordo who went above and beyond to help me get it exactly right.. His no-questions-asked solutions and after sales service is amazing...

        • Had 2021 Prado GXL Lovells GVM fitted yesterday
Have an Arb Steel bar, dual battery, towbar and rhino rack
          to centre wheels
          Front 520 to 570 so 50 mm
          Rear 550 to 630

Measured how others have been on here, guard to lower tyre rim
          Front 800mm
          Rear 860mm = 80 mm lift

Happy with the front which will no doubt drop. But rear seems too high at 860mm

Anything like the lovells I had you'll be sagging 30-60mm in the front in no time. They had 3 goes at getting it right.

            • for anyone who is interested the measurement of

STOCK MY 2022 Prado 150 GXL @850km odo - 1/2 tank of fuel - with wheels/tyres upgraded to VX 265/55/19 combo on 38psi all round:

              FL: 778 FR: 780
              RL: 818 RR: 820

nothing has been added nor subtracted in the car and 850km to settle the suspension

              • Acerider when measuring from bottom of the rim to guard you will need to deduct 25mm as your now running 19" rims as opposed to the standard 17" rims.
That will give you 753mm & 755mm front and 793mm & 795mm rear which is consistent with what we see for a stock 150 series with standard suspension.

                  • toyota3000,

820mm front is a bit high in my opinion, I would be removing the 10mm spacer to drop it down to 800mm to ensure adequate droop.

Thanks you are right, I have to remove the spacer, the car does not drive well. Many knocks in the front axel. I will remove them in the next month.

                          • Update to post 223 on page 15. Whitey's suspension is now at 75000 and still perfect. Front still sitting at about 790-795. All 4 of the specially valved Ironman Foam Cell Pro shocks still perfect in function and the bushes. 352 Dobbinsons front spring- excellent with ironman steel bar, Kaon bash plates and 30 kg 2nd battery. The rears are currently the 327 Dobbinsons with polyairs and despite an 11500 km trip last year covering pretty much all of the Beadell roads they are still sitting at 850 -860 with 3 psi in the air bags. The ride empty is ok but as mentioned earlier are too high. They are soon to come out and the 325s with airbags to go back in as no heavily laden outback trips planned.. This will bring the back down to about 830.
The Dobbinsons springs are terrific with no appreciable sag over 6 or7 years BUT unless you have a constant 100+ kg in the back, especially in a 5 seat GX the 327s are too high even though the ride is only a little firmer than the 325s. I have done big desert trips without the airbags and the 327s are fine. They are even better with the airbags at about 15 psi to give a [heavily laden] ride height of about 830. The 325s heavily laden for desert trips with the airbags at about 20 psi gives the same ride height as the 327s but the ride is firmer in the rough stuff than the 327s but if you drop 5 psi or so out of the airbags you will lower the ride height a little but soften the ride.
Airbags when pumped up appear to stiffen the suspension on big compressions so once I hit the dirt outback I lower the pressures as much as possible to give more progressive suspension compression while maintaining a good ride height.
