  • Running multiple wires to roof rack

Has anyone installed a roof rack and fit multiple spot lights/wiring. Where is the best and neatest way to run the wiring to the roof?

I have check my build up, im not too sure what the 150 roof gutters look like though. if there the same as 120 you can run it under that black covering that covers up the gutters.

    Cheers Tim

Hi guys ,I wanted to mount my UHF aerial onto my roof rack mounts but the 150 rubber seals are different to the 120. so the only option I can see is instead of the door window column take the cable to the rear and up the inside of the rear door and mount on the top of the rear door ???? anyone has else had a go ?? Hey Foxy

I'm in the same boat, looking at putting my UHF aerial on my roof. How did you go with running your cables? I was having a snoop around this arvo and I think I can run the cable under the black strip in the gutter to the front windscreen, then down the RH side of the windscreen just under the black metal cover seems to hide the cable nicely and with a bid of silicon to hold it in place will do the trick. The plastic drain cover at the junction between screen and bonnet comes of easily to reveal access in to the engine bay. Just below that point is an existing grommet into the drives foot well.

All looks easy enough, now just have to wait for my radio to arrive to do the install.

With antenna placement on the roof, be aware of the length of cable that comes with the antenna as it may not be long enough to reach the radio in the cabin.

I'm about to find this out for myself as I have designed an aerial and sand flag bracket that mount to the awning but it can also be knocked down for low clearance issues.

Thanks amts, I grabbed a 5mtr cable with my radio, should imagine this would be long enough.

Love to see some pics of your aerial/sand flag bracket as I have just put the same Rhino platform on as yourself.......seeing as I'm struggling to get aproval for a bar from the OH, I'm very limited for mounting things.

There was a thread on running cables to the rack a couple of years back.

Yes, I need to pull my finger out to move the antenna off the bullbar and onto the awning by easter.
Then I need to get a sand flag with quick disconnect that doesn't cost the earth!

Thanks Si & Rae. I had already found that thread, didn't fancy running the cable all the all the way to the back then up over.

Lots of useful info on this site with plenty of people happy to help. Thanks.
