I'm about to add a second battery, electric brake towing and UHF to my 07 120 diesel and it seems that most local sparkies want me to pay them to learn what equipment is needed and how to do it. Does anyone know an auto electrician in the Inner West that is experienced in rig build ups?

Plenty to learn simply by reading the various rig builds located on this forum and even a search for dual battery installs will show up lots of results...
They are not very complicated and depend solely on your own personal requirements, read a few and then take what you want from each.
if you ask a specific question when you get stuck, or post an additional question to an existing thread when you get stuck many members will freely give there ideas, opinions and knowledge to get you through!2014 D4D 150 GXL Automatic - CHARCOAL

Thanks Matty and Loz, I did look through the forums before posting and would, I think, prefer to use an auto electrician. The boss' late father was a sparkie and I think my enthusiasm for DIY is dampened somewhat by her raised eyebrows when I suggest I'll give it a go. So the question stands, if anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

I am a computer nerd, but I did it myself.
I have no electrical or mechanical experience, but reading the threads and posts here, with pictures, it was amazingly easy.
A few skinned knuckles, but thats half the fun.

Thanks Jus and Octane. I'm in the Inner West near Marrickville. We've bought a CUB stockman camper trailer and before I collect it, need to add electric braking and I'm looking at either the P3 or the Redarc. Not sure which yet, both seem to have their positives and negatives and their supporters and detractors in the forums. I'm also looking at the GME TX3500 UHF radio, dual battery, controller for fridges, Anderson plug for a solar panel and a rear camera for safety. So lots to do and while I was joking (mostly) about the boss, I really don't have the (day)time to do it and more importantly, do it right. Jus, who is your wholesaler?

Oz, I sell a lot of auto electrical parts to these guys, who are one of my main distributors in NSW:

Ask for Darren or Adrian and tell them that Justin from AEI/Ionnic sent you there. I speak to them a few times a week so I will let them know you may call.Last edited by Jus10; 04-03-2013, 10:03 PM.2005 VX V6
