Starting to think about fitting a compressor and this kind of effort to produce a good custom option is awesome.

Do have one question. My mate just got an arb compressor fitted to his 09 pajero and they fitted it down behind the front headlight with an outlet in front of the radiator. Bloody good install and I didn't know he had a compressor till he showed me it hidden. My question is can these compressors be hidden somewhere else in the front of the 120 Prados or is where you are all looking the best spot?

By the way his was pretty good for noise when in the cab considering it is down near the headlight away from the cab.

I would also be interested in having the compressor located where the second battery would be.

Are you still considering this AMTS?

      Cheers,

You can put it anywhere you like. At the moment that back passenger corner is a good spot for those with a dual battery already at the front behind the headlight.

I'm still working on the one at the passenger corner that can take a compressor and a fuel filter.
Happy to work on the second battery location too if someone would assist with some dimensions.

Meanwhile, I've picked up the brackets from the fabricator today. Need to check them and then off to the welders.

          Hi mate,

by where the second battery goes im guessing you mean behind drivers headlight, i just used a piranha battery tray for the 120 and mounted a compressor that way.

I was going to suggest you could just use a battery tray and mount the compressor on that.

Thats way overkill for behind the headlight, I have mine mounted in that position and just used a pice of 1.6 mm sheet with a few appropriate holes drilled in it, used the existing threaded holes in the body work and bolted the compressor to that small plate. Iv'e had the same plate in 2 prados with 2 different ARB compressors and its been everywhere with no issues.

Mounting an ARB compressor behind the headlight is about as easy as it gets!

                    Cheers Andrew

yea i know, well picked up the arb dual battery system today so battery will be going in piranha tray, and compressor in arb tray behind fusebox.

Ok, well it seems that its pretty easy to mount in behind the drivers headlight.

                        I will investigate... Thanks guys!

                        Cheers,

                          Hey Andrew,

You couldn't swing me some photos of how you have the compressor mounted behind the headlight?

                          Pretty Please.

                          Oliver

Roughly how far away do you think the combined compressor/fuel filter brackets are and does it look like a feasible design that will fit in the available space (in the 150)?

I purchased my compressor yesterday and was going to knock up a bracket this arvo but I wont bother if your ones are nearing completion.

I'm collecting the current production version from the welder tomorrow (friday). Then off to the platers, then to the powder coaters.

I am halfway through sketching up another revision for the combined bracket. It will take a few more weeks yet. It is looking feasible though.

Purchased my new compressor form the 4x4 show last Saturday. Keen to get it mounted now.

Keep me on the list for a combination compressor and filter compatible bracket.

Could you also give me a measurement from the bracket straight back to the two captive bolts on the firewall? Reason is I have mounted my SBI12 there and I’m hoping I will not have to move it. No biggy if I do but at least I can prepare.
