Thanks guys. Running the cable out the front was easier than I remember. I had the 6B&S and continued the lighter gauge red and black wires; with a loop behind the kick panel. That way I have the positive and negative feeds for both batteries to the voltage meter, just have to cut the wires and extend them once I work out where to fit the meter.

I cut one of the spare cable entries and ran a 6mm pull wire in, tapered the 6B&S and pulled it through. Had to hold one hand on the big grommet so I didn't pull it through too. Then pushed some split conduit back over the cable to the grommet. I will fit a Projecta fused terminal but realised I need to play around with the factory cables first so I have just fitted the cable to the top of the existing terminal. I fitted a manual 40A circuit breaker on top of the fuse box, not really happy with that but I wanted to get the system up and running. Time to think about alternatives later. I plan on using one of the fused points for the DC charger and the second for the compressor and spotlights. I want to try to keep this tidy as the 120 was a bit of a mess on top of the batteries (not my workmanship though I probably should have tidied it up).

And here is the fridge working nicely. I even read up on what the LEDs mean! The AGM battery took a full 25A charge for a while and then settled down to charging normally. The green LED was on with the engine running and off when not as it should be. Tripped the circuit breaker and all dead. So happy with that.

In the 120 I had the fridge on the LHS so the display was pretty much useless, much better now and I think better access too. It is amazing how much less space there is in the back of the 150 even when the seats are removed. I am pleased now I didn't go ahead and keep one 3rd row seat. There would have been even less space. I might throw the red Anderson plug on the solar panel tomorrow and make sure that side is working though as the changeover relay is working properly I can't imagine there is a problem. I have sourced a new 165W solar panel that will supersede the several years old 100W panel, just need to sort out the roof rack but there is plenty of time now to do that. The smaller panel will keep the 2nd battery in the trailer topped up. At least that is the plan.

    Enough for now.

    Michael

The fridge has a sheet metal floor with an upside down top hat profile on the two sides. These have slotted "key holes" on the bottom. So I screw M6 bolts into the Insert Nuts and then the fridge drops on top and slides forward engaging the slot part of the key holes. Bit of trial and error to get the right clearance between the bolt heads and the base board. Any braking pushes the fridge forward and the cushioning of the carpet keeps the bottom of the fridge firm on the base.

Really happy with how the whole thing looks.

That sir, is a work of art!
I have the same fridge too but mounted to the passenger side 2nd row via the Lifestyle Rack mount. However, there is a base you can buy for the fridge which locks it from sliding back after the fridge has slid forward on the keyholes.
Here it is in case you haven't come across it before

MJ, my hat goes off to you mate. I too am in the middle of the very same job on my 150. I am getting a single Drifta drawer from Drifta in a fortnight. Where did you buy the rivnut inserts from ? I have to complete securing my board also, and roughly how much carpet did you need to buy ?

                Again, thanks for the inspiration..

I bought the rivnut tool from an electrical place whose name escapes me at the moment. The tool came with a selection of rivnuts from M3 to M6 and I bought the M8 mandrel and some M8 rivnuts at the same time. It is a Marson Klik Ribbed Rivet-nut kit with the RN-1 Rivet Nut Setter. I need to restock too so hopefully google will shed some light!

I bought 1.5m of carpet and have some odds and sods left over but I wasn't too careful so you could get away with 1m if you planned it.

                  EDIT:

These guys might be worth a call.

EDIT2: Also Blackwoods. I ordered more M4 ~ M8 nuts and was told the tool I have isn't able to fit M8 nuts. Hmmm has worked ok so far.

Thanks Arti, still loving your mud hole pics. Cleaning up afterwards is always a pain. Years ago I lived in a place called Bundaberg and there was a track that ended in a massive mud/clay pan. After rain it was unbelievable fun in the 4wds and bikes. For every hour spent playing I reckon there was 2 cleaning up!

Must be doing something right, decided to do a test fit for the compressor this evening and, well, the bracket is done! No welding just two pieces of 4mm plate with holes in the right places. I started with one piece of plate and drilled holes to suit 5 of the weld nuts in the battery tray. Had to space it up about 8mm to clear the isolation block nuts, i will sandwich some 10mm rubber there i think. Then sat a second plate 25mm above the first to replicate the rubber block height and the compressor fitted nicely. So I marked out where i could get to the rubber block threads and nuts and drilled some more holes, then mounted the rubber blocks to the lower plate and bolted it in. Next sat the compressor on top and marked its location. Drilled some more holes and did the proper test install. Fits beautifully though a bit of brute force over ignorance to get the compressor on the rubber block threads but once there and bolted down all good. I will shorten these 15mm or so to make it easier.

I needed to install a rivnut because one of the factory weld nuts I was using was too close to the rubber block but that was easy enough.

The power cable will piggy back the large cable running under the radiator cover and reaches around to the battery. Just have to sort out a bracket to mount the switch and de-rust the plates and paint them.

I might drill some big holes in the lower plate so water doesn't get trapped.

Pics tomorrow if I get a chance.

OK as I promised here are a couple of quick and very dirty photographs of the compressor mount and compressor installed.

Still a bit to do, I want to round off the plate edges, obviously whip the plate or power wire brush and paint. I will cut the threads shorter on the other two vibration blocks. Need to dig out some washers and lock nuts and that is about it for the compressor itself. I will draw this up incase anyone else wants a plan. Very simple though. The vibration blocks are from Blackwoods. Their part 08800202 Silent Bloc B241, bit less than $20 ea delivered which is a good price for this stuff. Load capacity is 16kg ea.

Lower bracket in position. Decided finally to go with 3 M8 bolts and one M6 bolt in a rivnut. Bolts be loctited in position.

Compressor fitted in position. Still needs a bit of body English to install but if a third hand holds the A/C pipe a little closer to the engine it fits easily enough.

                              Plates and blocks.

All things being equal I will get this finished on Friday and then decide whether to use the ARB switch and where to mount it. Definately not putting the switch inside so somewhere out of the way in the engine bay. I will rotate the outlet to the middle position. I think that rather than run an air line as I did on the 120 with remote outlet I will just screw the outlet into the top as per ARB's standard arrangements. No whether to get the ARB hose or use my old stuff. Maybe nice new bits. I will have a look tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow the roof rack and mounting feet have arrived so another test fit to come.

Michael, those mounts are the same type CAT use to mount blade lift cylinder lights on D10 and D11 bulldozers. They will be brilliant in the Prado for the setup you have fabricated.
