As for you little mate sounds like monkey see monkey do if he needs to wait for a national standard for testing.
A structural engineer can design and rate a system individually and certify it on an individual basis. (For off road use only lol)
    Cleaver hey

I am not making up that acronym, it's used commonly where I have worked in the past.

The engineer I refer to is not my mate, rather the owner of a company that was recommended to me be the NSW RTA department in charge of ANCAP testing, they suggested he was the best person in Australia for anything that's needs engineer testing for accessories to fit to vehicles. He recently did a towbar test for me and provided a full and comprehensive written report detailing all tests, procedures, results and findings.

But I guess he is just a monkey and no doubt you would know more than he would, given your decades of experience in the auto accessory field.

    Cheers Andrew

He's right there Jasen, it is a commonly used acronym - stands for Common Dog F***, aka common sense.

            • I think we can safely conclude that regardless of which recovery/tow/tiedown points/eyelets/hooks/loops/hitch you use, Toyota recommends that you use a gentle pull, without jerking and with steady and even force... Lube optional
