    AJ,
    Here's a basic HOW-TO posed on newhilux.net (thanks Luxie46) that is worth a read...
    http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewto...16394&p=243115

Im considering the injector install myself and it looks like techstream handles the compensation codes as well...

Well, I have one and I think I'm going to order a nuclear strike on China. First, I had an Intelligent Tester 2 that crapped itself after being used twice. It went back to China for repair and came back with the same non functioning problem. I took it out to the range and blew it up. Now, I have the Techstream. And guess what, the bloody program doesn't want to load properly. Yes, I have an older laptop with XP so that isn't the issue. Bloody technology.

OK, I'm smarter than I thought. Click on Techstream setup program properties/compatibility and check the box that says run with Windows SP3. Easy. Let's see if that works on my current laptop.

Are you running 64 or 32 bit?

I'll be using my NetBook with Win 7 32, given the above it should work. If not, I'll try an XP VM on it with USB pass through.

Probably won't work if it is 64 bit. How do you check? "Golf Ball" -> Computer (right click) -> Properties

From there it should tell you if it is 32 or 64 bit, generally the dead giveaway is if you have more than 4 GB of RAM installed.

What you can attempt to do (mileage will vary) is attempt to get the "XP Mode" VM going and attempt USB pass through...I haven't tried it, so I can't comment from experience, but I got it going for a legacy app at work.

The current one is 64bit, the oldie is XP Pro and way slower.

Interesting that I tried to copy the contents of the Techstream disc to a folder on the new laptop. This caused the machine to freeze up during the file copying process. I had to shut it down using the power button.

On the old machine I keep getting error messages during the instal process.

I actually got that crc error when trying to copy the cd. I ended up trying about 4 machines until I found one that would copy it. I think the mini cd plays havoc with a lot of cd readers.

Just a thought, why not copy the contents of the CD to a folder on the desktop (or location of your choice) and run from there. I've had to do that with my Prado Service manual.

If its showing 4gb of memory it looks to be 64 bit version of XP so its really not compatible.

I've mentioned it earlier but have VirtualBox installed (free), but you also need a copy of XP 32 bit available to install. You then run a instance of XP from within your normal environment whether that is win 8/7/XP etc.
                                http://download.virtualbox.org/virtu...-88781-Win.exe
I used quite a few applications and devices that are Java specific at work (bloody java) and need to have a virtual machine (VM) for each.
You should then be able to install techstream and connect OK.
