My Toyota bars are exactly the same as the Rhino Vortex SX bars supplied with the SXB platform, have already checked this with the roof rack place. The SX legs can be bought via Toyota Spare parts for around $50 if you need them, Rhino charge $130 LOL.

Rhino Rack Pioneer Tray - which size did you buy and why?

Well I have opted for the Pioneer SXB platform 44102B on the factory SXB legs, got it for $665 installed and they threw in some eye bolts as well. Have to measure it properly but it was getting close to the 2.0m height limit on the rough measurement we did at the roof rack place. I figured if it causes me issues I will just remove it between trips and whack the factory cross bars back on.

I should add that I didn't need to buy the legs as I already had them from the factory crossbars.

Hi Guys,
Going to be installing the Rhinorack Pioneer Platform today - some have mentioned using sikaflex or plumbers tape to keep water out.
Plumbers tape on the bolts I can understand easy enough - but how is everyone applying the sikaflex? On the threads of the bolts? or just around it?
Cheers,
Kevin

Likewise, just followed the instructions. Although, the instructions said I was meant to just some round flat washers for bolting the legs to the platform, when instead it included these massive chunky square ones.... I think the squares were a better idea and fit - just wish the instructions were up to date!!

If you are going to spend the money, may as well go the 42102b. Used it already to transport idea bookcase home on the weekend.

ice.t,
definitely buy the longer one. I originally bought the shorter one, but took it back the next day as it is very limited in what you can carry on it. The guy at the roof rack shop said the smaller ones were meant for vehicles with sunroofs.
If you ever need to carry a second spare like I did, you will need the longer one. Here for a good time, not a long time!

OK this thread is just what I needed.
I have been racking (pardon the pun) my brains for weeks on which choice to make. I spoke to a Rhino rep and mentioned I probably don't want to remove the factory rails and I won't keep the platform on all the time due to garage issues. He had the same issue on his rep vehicle and said he has pulled his off and on heaps and it is not that big a drama.
On the Rhino site if I put in 120 series 5 door it only gives me JA0084 (1528 x 1236) or JA0092 (1928 x 1236).
Does the 44102B fit my car or is it the same as the JA0092 (Specific to 120)?
As someone mentioned the RV5 and I now have one of them which is 1900 long so I am leaning towards the 1928 so I can put a canvas bag up there for tent and sleeping gear on trips.
Currently I have only the roof rails but want to keep them so any advice welcomed on which one etc.

I have sympathy with you on which one to fit... I finally, after a LOT of research and talking with a lot of peeps went to TJM the guys who told me about a 42107 - 2.2 X 1.296 (cane with a roof kit and I cannot remember the number) they removed my rails and fitted it to the roof... VERY pleased with the job as I can fit my RTT and spare etc. when needed - Just another option

Hey ymus, any chance of a side on pic showing how long it is on the roof?
I am also considering this rack or possibly the 42104B, which is massive at 2128x1426, just for the width as I'm hoping to fit a roof top tent with shovel/high lift on one side and awning on other side. Just wondering what people's opinions are on this? I probably won't leave the rack on all the time, just put it on when needed.[LEFT]Silver 150 Facelift
