  • Servicing a KDJ120R MY07 D4D, 2006 Prado GXL 120 Series

    I am a new owner of a 2006 Toyota Landcruiser Prado GXL 120 Series KDJ120R MY07 D4D, 5 speed Auto, 90,000kms.
Does anyone have the part numbers for genuine and recommended generic brand Oil Filter and the 2 fuel filters and any other parts that I will need during service times that I can replace myself.
I would love to hear opinions about the D4D engine not needing oil change till every 10,000km as well I am getting conflicting reports about changing every 5,000km or 10,000km.
Also interested in the conflicting info on genuine versus generic parts, one I have seen on EBAY is a "DRIVETECH 4X4® Filter Kit Toyota Landcruiser Prado KDJ120"... for $58.50 which is extremely cheap compared to genuine Toyota parts.

    Here's a couple of links.
    http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_200...AGYQ_2201.html
    http://www.amayama.com/search/?q=
Also look at sites such as http://www.filterselite.com.au/products/wesfil1

Check out the diesel engine threads under the 120 section. There's a ton of info relating to oil changes, servicing, etc. Use the search function and you will find everything you need to about these vehicles. Yes, there are some good deals via ebay as long as they are from reputable sources. Be careful about scrimping on servicing costs with this engine though.

An '06 - I'd be checking if the injector seats (the old copper ones) were changed out at the 80K service. Trust me.

Amayama is a good site, I replaced an EGR Sensor - my mechanic could only get for $140 wholesale, Toyota wanted over $200, bought from Amayama for $58.

Personally, I'm sticking to OEM filters - especially Oil and OEM Fuel.
