  • How do I keep power to the beer fridge for 7 days??

    Hi guys,

Since this will be the first time I have camped out in the bush for a 7 nights, I have been wondering how we go about keeping the fridge running.

So I thought I would put up a poll to see what more knowledgeable members were planning to do:
    1. Get a second battery and drive every day to keep it topped up
    2. Use a solar setup
    3. Use a generator
    4. Run a long extension lead to the campsite next door
    5. You don't need power, just a big esky and dry ice

    Open to other suggestions.

The GTG is a driving event, so option 1.

            Second battery is number 1.
            Solar is 2.

                Best response ever.

Is it possible to change my vote to number 1? lol Definetly agree number 1 in this instance. Any other time when camping, 2 is the best option but probably the most expensive as ideally you also have a dual battery.

(insert little shudder at mention of dual battery)

I'm in the same boat as Nigel, only have a primary battery at this stage. With all the talk of cracked inner guards I'm reluctant to put a 2nd battery in the front, was thinking of a battery box setup in the rear but need a way to charge it too.

You can set it up in the rear, still use the same dual battery kits will charge it.
Or just take it out & leave it at camp connected to solar.
