  • Ray's kaka build up

Finally after having the kaka for 2 years I have saved enough for some mods and because we are going to Fraser in Jan was a good excuse to start on the list. I purchased the kaka after I thought the 120 petrol was a submarine and flooded it but in hindsight insurance did me a favour and finally get my diesel.

List of mods wanted and needed
    1. Arb winch bar - tick
    2. Outback drawers -tick
    3. Duel batteries - tick
    4. Air tech snorkel - tick
    5. Fridge slide - tick
    6. Aero bars - tick
    7. Pioneer platform rack - on order
    8. Cooper at3 - on today
9.underbody protection - need to save
    10. Winch - need to save
    11. Side steps - when I wreak the originals
    12. Led light bar - when I decide what I want
    13. Fox wing - tick
    14. Chip and exhaust - when the warranty runs out
    15. Relocate front camera - next couple of weeks

      Looking good Ray.

No. 11 won't take you long, the original plastic ones don't stand up to much. At least with a diesel you have the ARB option available, there's nothing out there yet for a V6 with KDSS.

Looking good... I am interested in how it handles with the bar on the front. Is it sagging at all and / or does it have a lean? Also do you have the radar cruise control? If so, does the bar seem to affect it at all?

It's dropped the front probably about 10 mm but I like it seems to sit more natural. I think but I haven't checked it seems I have the dreaded kdss lean on the drivers side. I don't notice it much (5-10 mm) when driving but when parked it looks about 20 mm. Radar cruise is not effected at all. Handling wise it feels the same if anything just a little more floaty when hitting bumps but it doesn't cause me any concern.

I notice suspension isn't on the list? Probably will need it soon with the weight and also need the additional clearance for touring. I am guessing it will be a tourer with the mods...

              nice list btw!

Thanks, yes I will change the suspension when I can digest from all the posts I have read on the kakadu suspension change. It still confuses me as to which way is the best way to change. And to fix the kdss lean at the same time
