      • Today, I took the Family for a drive from Renmark to Wentworth (Perry Sandhills), via the Old Wentworth Rd, and then home via the Old Mail Rd on the other side of the river.

I don't generally get to drive it, as it is the wife's daily drive.

The Old Wentworth Rd is in Terrible condition on the SA end, but in great condition on the Wentworth end. We had morning tea at Lake Victoria, lunch at Perry Sandhills, and a tour of the Old Wentworth Gaol. The Old Mail Rd is in terrible condition, down to walking pace in many sections. A lot of sections don't even resemble a road!

We did 360kms, and about 10kms from home we very nearly hit 5 roos as they all jumped out at the last minute.

As I don't get to drive the Prado very much, it was great to be able to do a decent drive, about 310kms on dirt. The Prado was so comfortable!

        • Don't you just wish we had proper snow tyres like they have in Canada.
Those thing work so well it's amazing how much grip you have, even on compact snow and ice.

          • Refit my optima aux batt after realising it came with an adapter plate to lift it up an inch. Fits properly now in the clamp, got that warm fuzzy feeling!

              • But do they work on mud? Rocky climbs? Dry bitumen? (We had all these conditions.) Chains can be a pain but if fitted properly they work well and you take them off in a hurry if required.

No, that's why they are called snow tyres...

Do you have a bullbar Tin? What's the view like? I have the factory front camera on my Kakadu but it's located just below the logo and really only gets the back of the spotties and the small space between in a very fish-eyed view. I'm wondering if this one might have a better angle seeing as it's mounted a bit higher and more forward.

And now they've discovered the front drive shaft seals are U/S and need replacing. More waiting for parts.

                            • Refuelled with 150 litres

                              Car took 150 litres today.

I'm still in the "getting to know you" phase with our new 150 having had a 120 for ten years.
The low fuel light on the 120 was uncannily accurate (15 l remaining). Light on - hit trip metre - 100km until empty. I never ran dry but could estimate within a litre or two what she would take to fill based on how many kms travelled passed the fuel light.

Went to servo last night at 130 kms past low fuel light in the 150. Fuel light on at 22 l remaining in 150 so was expecting her to take 144 l. Started getting bloody breather locks at 130 l, dribbled my may to 138.5 l with breather burping and farting and gave up caus place was busy. Returned this morning (after 16km driven) and she took another 12.8 l for a total of 150 l (discount 1.3 l for the 16km driven overnight)

                              Lessons learned:
I can't count on the fuel light like I could in the 120.
...or perhaps I CAN count on fuel light like the 120 - for 15 l NOT 22 l.
Breather locks while refuelling the 150 are a PITA.
Procedure may have to be to refuel late at night when its quiet so I don't subject innocent members of the public to a 30min refuel of the 150's recalcitrant fuel system. Previous refuel took 20min to dribble in the final 30 l, and this refuel locked with 20l remaining.

I quietly question to myself the role that breather locks play in these sub 10 l/100km runs that I read about but can never achieve??

No Bullbar. Quite happy with the picture quality which is better resolution and low light than the rear camera.

Picture is fairly wide. I can't see the standard bumper in the picture.

Check out this thread for more info and pictures.
