I was thinking the same thing myself Mick, most gear is still in the garage or still in the drawers, so I just need to sort out food and drinks and I'm set. Just waiting to find out if I've got a meeting in the afternoon..... Ok looks like I've got a meeting at 3.00 pm in the city so, I'll head off from there, it'll be a late arrival into Talbotville.

Funny you guys are talking about drinks, first thing I just did, was start a new thread to remind everyone about Drinks for gtg.

Nice time to have a meeting Josh, I bet it ill be a quick one :-)

12 cans, well that should be ok, dad & I are only going to share a slab of Jim beam white. I think dad will have a few reserves. I don't bring bottles anymore if dad is coming:-)
Steve if you wanna trade in a few Canadians for jims I might be able to work something out :-)

Steve, I'm not too sure of the travel time going in the other way, might do it, will see how mick goes for time, but right now feeling lazy & will probably cruise into Dargo pub for lunch. & a refreshment.

Got a couple little goodies for everyone, the gtg starts early :-)

Do I need to pack the emergency bottle of bourbon! Cleaned out the Jayco before Christmas, found, two bottles of red, bottle of white, bottle of bourbon and a bottle of rum, all for medicinal purposes of course, you'd think I was planning on triaging an earthquake! Pretty much packed, chainsaws in, couldn't be bothered opening to the camper to retrieve the Gazebo, roof and walls though! Single swag it is!

                    Hi All,

Great w/e for Recce No.6 - Met up with #### & his Dad, Dave The Drinker on Friday morning, on the way the heavens opened up & threw everything at us, Mick (weasel) & son caught us up just after Rosedale so we blazed on towards Dargo to sample a nice counter lunch & to quench our thirsts.
On arriving at the start of Mcmillians track, we aired down as the heavens opened up again, soaked thru we headed on toward the start of Bull Town Spur Track, First real test for the camper, after the heavy down pour, my arse cheeks were flapping abit to say the least, & I questioned my self: why didn't I get electric brakes? Anyways, as we made it to the bottom & crossed the 20+ rivers crossings, who needs electric brakes....I just need the nomad valve body upgrade & lock up kit. After setting up camp at Talbotville we waited for the next arrivals, First was Ian (uros) then came Kurt & Michael (netarch) finally Josh & son arrived. We had a great Recce Drive on Saturday followed by drinks & chatter round the camp fire. Sun morning we had a lazy pack up of the camper while the rest of the crew toiled on with another Recce of a different area, I drove out via Crooked river Track & on towards Kingswell Bridge & home by 5pm..Thanks to all for an enjoyable w/e, & nice to have met more fellow Mexican PPers

                    Cheers,

                    Steve J

                            Hey Steve,

Very nice little trip report, I think you are the new pp Vic crew trip report man.

We did a heap of driving again today & finalized all the planned trip routes/reccies for this gtg, we found a cracker of a, well 2 crackers of tracks before we went up billygoats on the way home. Exceptional work from Ian for choosing & putting those routes together on the map in colour!
Billygoats is a little more choppy in a couple places & one dude in front of us had to winch.
                            (he got hung up)

Guys I think this weekend we drove the best of what Talbotville area has to offer & I really enjoyed it all.
It will be nice if we get some rain & water into the rivers.
I was pleased how short the grass was too, at times Takbotville grass can be 300-500mm long, not nice.
But it's set to be perfect.
Pitty it seems there is only 1 ( ONE ) pit toilet that we could find.......?
                            Gtgers, bring your ports loos!

Thankx to all for coming along to help make it a growse weekend for all that attended.
