    It looks like I'm going to need a Tech day. Whose in?? Big-Trev, Gramps, anyone else? If we take 2 things each from the list we'll be done no worries...

      Ready yet, huh? I'll probably leave that till the last minute just like all my trips ;-) I'll be roughing it with a tent and esky. Can't afford a camper when I have to fill this thing with 98 all the time! Speaking of which, I'm a little concerned about fuel supplies :-/ Where's the best premium 98 petrol to Talbotville?

        Just fitted up the underbody protection and now only have to fit the road safe recovery hooks and the prado is ready.

          Either Melbourne or Adelaide. You could try syphoning tourist Nanna cars as they travel between the two cities chasing the big bingo prizes.

            Dargo is the closest fuel but doubt they have 98. they might have 98 at mt buller & might not (long way), so your about 150k away from Bairnsdale will have it. LOL....... I hope u can do with 91 or Dargo has it........

              Hi Glen. Maybe you could get away with bringing a couple of bottles of octane booster and using them when you fill up with 91?
              Looking forward to meeting at the GTG.

                Good to go on my side, just bring an electric drill for that monster hole as mine bit the dust the other weekend. I'm only running a cordless drill at the moment and it may not have the guts.

                  There is no fuel on Mt Buller.
                  There is a servo/cafe at the gates to Mt Buller, no 98 there though.
                  There is 98 in Mansfield.
                  All wrong side of the range.

                    Hope we have finished the GTG buy up.
                    If it were a competition I think I'm winning

                    Lets see, the list so far:
                    New Lift kit(thanks Anthony)
                    2 new tyres, next week.
                    New matress for old camper. (hope it fits in new one)
                    New camper trailer, picking up Friday (old camper will be up for sale)
                    Replacement 110 A/hr deep cycle battery(used)
                    Will now need a new battery charger.
                    New Technice 45 lt car fridge(arrived last week ordered Jan) and
                    40lt ice box(just arrived ordered Jan)
                    New tent for the kids(old one leaked when I used it last week)
                    Thinking of the coleman instant 4.

                    Not sure I should have written out the list think it only makes it worse.
                    Oh well at least we are now set for a long while.
                    Mind you some underneat protection and a snorkle wouldn't go astray, nor would diff breathers.

                      It'll cope with 91 fuel with it's second map setting, but I'll have to drive differently with the weight - need to avoid low RPM's on ascents, otherwise pinging will occur. Octane booster is a good idea, ta Ben. I might bring a couple just in case. They're pretty expensive though! $20-$30 per 60L to turn 91o into 97o.

                        Glen, I have a feeling Dargo may have Premium 95 as well as ULP 91 and Diesel.

                            I know it will not be an easy one to answer, but if we fill on the way into Talbotville will that do us for all the drives?

                              Depends on your economy and how much driving you do! I'd say you'd be pretty safe, I did Geelong to Mansfield, Mansfield to Wannongatta - Talbotville and return on a tank the other week, about 1000 km. Unless youre getting 400 km from a tank, you should be pretty tight.

                                The Prado's ready with new D697's and new injectors. I still have to sort out all the gear and food etc. which seems like a pretty big task at the moment!
