2014 GTG Are you ready yet?

I will wait for the same thread next year, then I will say yes sometime next year. The big black @!#$*% in my garage is still a pup and I will wait until he is fully grown to an angry beast.

They're never too young to baptise with a few pin stripes! Once the first ones done, it's open slather!
      150 with stuff bolted on!

I can attest to that and I drive a Kakadu LOL. It was hard to look at the pin stripes at first but once the realisation dawns that you're only going to get more you don't worry so much.

          Hey Chris,

In your petrol guzzler, well I'd hope so & think so. But maybe cut it close. Not far to get more especially if on the way back from one of the drives.
I will fill up in Mansfield & then will need fuel again about 2 weeks later :-) love the 180lt diesel.

I reckon I must be just about ready to pack and head on over to Mexico. Don't think I need to do much more.

These next two weeks better not drag, I wanna go already.

Dug out all the old camping gear today, couldn't find a couple of things so headed off to Ray's to buy some replacements and some extra goodies while the 20% off sale was on. The missing bits will turn up after the GTG no doubt. Popped in to Aussie Disposals as well and found some things that Ray's didn't have in stock so a good afternoon of GTG shopping was had.

Second row of seats are out, fridge mount and false floor are in place. Packing is a little different to our Cape trip last year, will there be enough room for the cold weather gear!!

                    Cheers

New tap. Dry seal. New spring mattress being manufactured. Few other improvements.
Vehicle is always ready for action, had to replace the UHF after being abused 2 weeks ago about how (***censored***) it is.
So I bought a new one to keep him happy. Not sure if it was the radio but at least it's eliminated :-)
Had to repair my $12 battery tray, not its a $14 battery tray.
Got a terrible noise it's making a notable knock after starting & on moderate bumps, can't figure it out, giving me the shits.
Might just buy a new 200 series, that will sort it.
Gotta get the rest of the prizes sorted & picked up.
Got to sort out a menu & drink selection......

But, it will all work as it is so ready.
Camper= new spring mattress is in camper
Will hit the stitching with dry seal again & make the bed & camper is almost ready.
Might adjust the storage doors a bit tighter see it it helps with dust.

Vehicle = need to clean air filter & it's ready as ever.
New UHF seems to be ok & new antenna now as the other one broke on last reccie.

Food= working on it, dinner: pasta, chille on carne, roast pork, beef, chicken & lamb, cannelloni.
Breakfast always healthy, cereal or porridge .
Lunch, well working on it, c hard work.

Still need to chase up more prizes & show bag goodies etc & put those together.
I really wish I knew who was really coming for numbers it would help so much with organising a lot of things.

                          ####

Hang in there. You have two weeks to go, then the stress of making sure 38 other vehicles and the attendees have a great time and then its over almost before it began. I am seriously looking forward to this GTG as like the rest of the committee from 2012, we really didn't have any time to smell the roses along the way.

Oh, and after making it sound bad, never lose sight of the fact that everyone appreciates the effort, you will see it in their smiles, their happiness and their tired faces at the end of the day, even if they don't say it, you will know it.

All good dude, I know it will be all systems go for me! Don't worry it started a while back but yes more so as it gets closer & I'm sure while its happening I will be busy. It will go down really well & it should definitely be a trip to look forward to.
I think only previous active gtg organisers know how much time goes into this, I'm guessing AJ would be able to tell me all about it.

That's what I would like to achieve smiles all round if we get that then I will be

If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know I will make time. I know where you live and my passport is up to date too :-).

Finally got the Kaka back today, thought I was going to be bringing the loan car to the GTG for a while there (it was a Falcon LOL). I'll be able to get the false floor and slide finished now, that reminds me I need to order the slide.

The Safari Snorkel and dual battery kit are all installed and running. Have tested the isolator and it seems to be doing what it's meant to. Have 2 lovely new Century batteries to provide the juice (thanks again for sourcing those for me ####).

Funnily enough I sort of miss all the organizing despite it being a huge work load leading up to and during the 2012 GTG. On the other hand I am looking forward to rocking up and doing SFA other than standing around the fire talking BS and following tail lights during the drives.

Oh and no not ready yet, a lot I would like to do, but only a few minor things I need to do.

                                Cheers Andrew
