    Thanks fido666,

Yeah drivers side mat got a bit of a work out getting in and out of the car to drag others out of the bog hole on Billy Goats. That's what mats are for eh.

Poor Shan, we must of spent a couple of hours trying to get the air bag working on the Grande. We used Anders jack twice in the morning and the arvo on his Prado. Anders and Shan tried hard as to get it going again, glued pipe work putting the bag in and out, what a mess. I reset the computer a couple of times and Shan was covered in mud. Nil washed him down with wet ones.

Twice I put bolts in the bash plate for him. Not sure why they fall out all the time. Anyway I think he was talking of getting rid of it after the GTG.

    All good fun.

    Cheers.
Crystal Pearl Altitude 150 Landcruiser Prado. TJM sensor bar, brush guard, side steps. KM2 BFG on GXL alloys. Kaymar bar, Drifta and MSA fridge slide. ARB locker and compressor, and MK11 compressor and fuel filter bracket.

Nice looking vehicle Shan. I remember on one of your GTG recce's you blow an OEM airbag..grande??? A few of us now in Qld have the airbagman OA6011 extended bags on our grande's which appear a lot stronger and longer!! I always think about trading up to something like your new altitude but just cannot justify it atm?? Amts I believe has a new airbag spacer now for the 'older grande's running oem bags! Nice buying...

If I had the time again, I would go for airbagman extended bags. At the time I thought the reason OEMs gave way was they were 7 years old.
But even with AMTS MK1 spacers I didn't had much luck. After I did the split pin at the bottom then I started braking the air lines instead. I change the rear shocks to Monroe (very short) just before GTG and still did the right side air line.

Anyway I wanted a Diesel so this was just another poke.... you are right If my Grande was a diesel I wouldn't touch a 150 in a hurry.

                    Nice one Shan,

Looking forward to your build thread. Also very interested to read your impressions of the 150 compared to the 120.
                    Cheers, Brad

Nice looking car Shan, I am looking forward to seeing you on the tracks with it in the near future. Now that you have upgraded the 120 there will be no stopping you. No real damage to report from the GTG, only a dent in the tank protector as far as I can tell.

Sorry Kurt, just to correct your confusion, he has downgraded to a 150, but upgraded to coil springs

Very nice Shan! Silver is the best colour, not that I'm biased LOL. Some black wheels and she'll look great!

Didn't have any problems with the airbags on the GTG, just had some brake fade issues after coming off Billy Goats. We decided to try out the crawl control on the steep sections coming down which worked really well despite all the horrible noises. I'm surprised the brakes got so hot though. The Kaka goes in for a service on Friday, hoping they don't tell me I need new brakes (car has almost done 60,000K now).

Good purchase Shan, you will love it. It is definitely an upgrade (but a big downgrade to the wallet). Have fun with the build.
                            Cheers..........Wayne
