Probably worth still talking to Whitey about maybe getting the custom prado valve stacks for the ironman shocks.
    Makes all the difference.

Replaced all the idler pulleys and new drive belt on the Ol girl. 3 of the 4 pulleys were downright effed but my fault for washing the engine bay and spraying directly into them. Made it sound a bit like a supercharger lol. Now she's all quiet and happy again. Now to get ready for her 200k service

Finally changed the leaking fuel filler hose which had a couple of splits in it. Also installed a new gear selector pin as supplied by AMTS, no more floppy stick!

    Hi all,

well being a new member to PP this is one thread I hope to be on regularly,

First I bought a 2008 GX and it only had 120000K's on it, Diesel, manual, 180ltr tank, it was a one owner from a small country town and it's in very tidy condition,
as you see in the pic it came with Bullbar, driving lights, duel batteries and UHF so now to start adding the extras21314828_10155164109878040_8537197703819858425_n.jpg

Welcome phattstump. Nice rig. First thing I would do is check the history of the injectors and injector seats. Plenty of good info on the diesel motor threads in the 120 &150 sections. Also drop your oil and check the pickup screen.

it's going in for a full service to get all diff oils, transfer case etc done,

so should I be looking at replacing the injectors or just an inspection

    regards Peter

Get a good mechanic that is well versed in the D4D motor. Definitely get them to inspect the oil pickup when oil is drained every service. Get injector values checked cold, drop off to mechanic the night before. Speak to the previous owner if possible in regard to whether the injector seats have been checked/replaced as well as the injectors themselves. 120 000 seems to be the common age at which problems are likely to start. As I said before read up on the typical issues that these motors have. In most cases they are easily avoidable if looked after correctly. If not checked you may suddenly be up for a new motor, plenty have detonated in the past.
