    Overall, money well spent (on the lights), now I just have to try them out in the bush
    I know the photo problem;

    I had a big fight with an insurance company after a shonky repairer fitted rotten Chinese headlights that did not focus properly after an accident.
    After a month of trying to take photos to show the problem I ended up going to a different assessing centre, we lined up the car in a dark corner and it was immediately obvious there was a big problem with the lights. The human eye can detect an amazing amount of detail that a camera simply cannot, and I mean any camera. Digital ones are worse as they try even harder to repair contrast issues and have a wider ASA than old film cameras.

      • Been awhile since my last check-in! All the fancy remote controlled start, proximity locking and push button start has been removed. It was all added one after the other so I pulled it all with the intention of rewiring it all in one big step. Never happened... hell, I actually went 12months without keyless entry.

        Anyway, been driving the old 90 quite a bit compared to my E36 recently so the old girl has gotten some love! I'm currently trying out all the different brands and models of LED upgrade headlights on the market. Found the Autotecnica brand to be the brightest but the J.W. Speaker has given me the best light dispersion so far plus it's high beam was useable. I've found that with nearly all of them, once you flick to High Beam, there is a noticeable light increase everywhere, but it still doesn't seem to penetrate the darkness.

        Other than that, just the general maintenance of oil changes, fuel filters, tyres and so on and so forth.

                • Paid the Auto Elec $143 to supply & fit a Denso Starter Motor Solenoid Contact & Plunger Kit....I was getting the occasional click click, especially on cold mornings. 340k on the clock now, not bad for original contacts. Was very happy with the price considering the kit would have cost me $40..........

                      Yeah steam out the exhaust for a small period, then suddenly boom a few weeks later before i got it sorted.

                      Anyway after getting it looked at, there was also a problem with the timing chain assembly, so cost to repair is almost as much as getting a whole new engine.

                      So new engine time when I can afford it

                      waiting, waiting.

                        • This weekend am replacing the upper ball joints and stabalizer bar bushes as the bushes are cactus. After that will consider getting extended sway bar links.

                          • Funny you mentioned swaybar links. I bought my old bus over a year ago and havent done much till just a few weeks ago . Finally doing all it needs for a full service on everything. Funny how taking off the stone guards i saw the links from the sway bar broken off and rusted . i just thought the old bus has a lot of sway on the round abouts .i wondered how long it had been left that way . fitted a new one . It sure drives better . feel like im taking a corner like a Ferrari now .

                            • I bet. She would've been a bit flighty on the highway too. I replaced nearly all my front end ball joints and bushes during the last 12 months and just got around to doing the upper ball joints on the weekend as they were badly worn. Had to buy an expensive little ball joint pressing kit with the big c clamp, but it feels like a brand new car to drive with its handling and ride comfort now. Very impressed.

                              I'd like to tweak it a little bit more with the new sway bar links.

                              • It sure makes a difference with a smooth ride.as well as getting rid of a few rattles and knocks.Mine is still the original but still smooth . i don't think the original owner ever took it off road .and it was probably garaged for most its life.

                                I'm gonna check out some ideas for the seats next year .I say next year cuz i got my mind on exhaust for this year as well. cant do it all in one hit . But want to set it good for long journeys . best seats i ever had were in a jeep Cherokee, full leather electrics , but the softest seat you ever felt . I want to go talk to an upholster before radical decisions are made , cuz they may have an idea or two. ive read that some people like holden or ford seats , not so sure about that .
