I will be starting a build thread when I can my head around posting pics
Sounds great, I've always wondered how much better the piggybacks are. Would love to try them but geaz the prizes!! Definitely looking forward to some pics and a build up thread if you make one.

Ian, that's a nice collection of mods in one hit, you'll be loving it

Sam, looks great. Out of curiosity, why no bull bar?

For mine, after having a rear shock snap recently, and noticing lots of worn bushings on the rear control arms, I've decided my suspension system will need some work. However, I follow the rule of upgrade, not replace, so there's lots of research to be done, and I'm considering heim joints.
Glen, the heim jointed upper arms that Todd just put in his 120TUF wil go darn cose to fitting yours.
The 120's run the same bolt diameter & the bushes in them are only 1mm wider than ours.

          Regards, Jason.

            Thanks Jason,
I already have aftermarket UCA's which use a ball joint - over sized and sealed. Very happy with them. The bushings I've noticed that have failed are 1 side front LCA (genuine, ~1 year, not happy!) and all rear links are torn up a bit. As you know only some bushings are available for the rear links so I'm thinking of replacing all rear links with USA ones, adjustable + heim joints. After that, some longer shocks, and the rear will flex like a slinky ;-) Priority right now is the LCA bushing and finding a grinding noise. I believe you sell genuine front bushings yeah? Could you send me a price for 1 set of LCA bushings and their availability? (front passenger LCA)

Oh, and just to keep within the thread topic! My rig has had the wobbles on corners so I had a going over of the vehicle yesterday and found the above mentioned LCA bushing failure. I knew one of those bushings was suspect for a long time now, but in the past 2 weeks it changed from being noisy (rubbing/friction) to freely moving left/right and tapping. 2,000+km's to Victoria and back can do that.

Last week got my 50mm lift.

Full Dobinson Springs and Medium Duty Shocks all round. (no towing, only some offroad here and there)

              Done by John @ Zordo's Suspension (zordos4wdsuspension.com.au)

Looks great, much firmer to drive, haven't found any dirt yet

Ended up being higher though, initial lift is 75mm, John thinks as it the 2.7L, it is lighter than the normal 3L Diesel and 3.4L Petrol so there is less weight to lift. It will still settle 10mm or so but I'm happy with the results!

I assume all is ok, Nothing looked untoward, and I haven't had anything drop out yet

The lift was +75mm from where is was sitting, front was sitting perfect prior to lift, back had a little sag in it from 14 years of prior use...

Wow that's a big improvement Sam! What tyres are you running?

On topic: last night I practiced some welding by reinforcing the stock protection plate for the main fuel tank. Getting a little tired of straightening it out but mostly just practicing with my new welder I'd post pics but my welds aren't really worthy of showing off!

bought a Part time "Multi Mode" transfer-case...
                        basically has H2 - H4 - H4 lock - L4 lock
it comes factory in the Higher spec Surf 185

it basically means i will have the option to drive around in 2wd or 4wd (same as it is now)
hoping this might help a little with the fuel economy

I'm very interested in this also!!

Does it have the same case shape/arrangement as our VF3B transfer? Is the front prop shaft on the passenger side?

I've read someone else's conversion and they reported it's shape required a minimum 40mm body lift to fit.

                            Case model number?

Oh what the hell, here's a couple pics of my progress in learning to weld. Here I'm reinforcing the rear tank guard using some scraps. I figure this is the most productive way to practice as it's both useful and non-critical.

Wouldn't have a clue on model numbers but visually it looks identical to my 1201kz auto transfer (I have a 120 box it my 90)
Looks like the whole thing will just bolt up as normal !!
Just need to find a 4wd actuator motor
