Why do you have a 120 box?

Looks a bit like some of my welds before I discovered a flap wheel attachment for my grinder

Looks like the whole thing will just bolt up as normal !!
Just need to find a 4wd actuator motor
Does the front prop shaft run down the driver or passenger side?

Are you referring to pre or post welding? I did grind those beforehand but have since realised a flap disc does make things much shinier compared to a grinding disc.

Post - I was a little embarrassed after seeing some of the great welding that other people do. Using gas and good wire made a huge difference though.

Welding is a bit of technique and an awful lot of practise. Once you have the first bit right the second is what makes it pretty. Ugly welds work too though.

I'd be keeping a close eye on my CV's if I was you, particularly as it looks like you have standard size tyres on the RV. Here's a little bit about my experience with an over zealous lift using Dobinson springs.

God thats a relief. Was thinking of getting a welder but haven't done it since school, crikey nearly 40 years ago. I'm thinking there are gonna be some ugly welds and a lot of grinding.

If anyone asks why you are grinding so much just tell them you are using the multiple run grain refinement technique.

i converted my V6 to a 1KZ diesel auto, at the time and probly still now the 95 series diesels are rare and rocking horse SH*T in perth and this 120 kz auto was sitting around at a wreaker.... its out of a 04 120 but id say its identical still only a 4spd
im also running the 120kz ECU aswell
still got the V6 diffs as there better ratio for economy

a mate is doing the same conversion now so it will be interesting to see if theres any difference in ECUs or boxes

front diff drops down the pass side
visually if you saw them both on the floor you wouldnt tell the difference unless you Really knew what to look for

i do need to find the 4wd actuator motor for it though as it was missing , hoping my 120diff lock motor will work(they bolt up in the same bolt holes) other wise i have access to a 95 series center diff lock motor

Thanks for the info Scott. If I research a bit more I'll probably work out what that transfer model is. I'm definitely keen on a 2H/4H/4HL/4LL transfer, but I don't have any plans to change the transmission.

Yeah no worries... I'm not changing the gearbox only the transfercase theoretically it shouldn't worry the ecu
