i picked up brake signal at the trailer plug, there is a patch harness behind the cover near the jack. I was in there anyway to connect the electric brake wire to the hayman Reece trailer wiring. I always prefer to pickup the signal at the rear of the vehicle so as to not potentially interfere with the oem wiring for brake lights.

If you pick it up the brake light feed in the trailer wiring the vehicle brake lights won't work when the overriding the trailer brakes, just something to consider. Must be before the trailer wiring relay module.[LEFT]Silver 150 Facelift

I installed the towpro yesterday. Mounted it in the centre consule, just in front of the the 12v acc, with the unit mounted underneath the cup holders. Spliced the brake light feed from the purple cable coming off the brake pedal, and the brake cable was connected up onto the blue cable from the trailer wiring harness (inside the jack compartment).
Overall very happy with the placement and minimal cable runs. The location of the controller allows me to adjust or manual brake the trailer without needing to lean forward (which is something that i may not want/ or be able to in a situation that requires it).2010 GXL 150 TD, Auto, Graphite, ARB Bullbar, OME Suspension, Safari Snorkel, Coopers AT3

I fitted mine up today. I bought three a while ago and both Utes have been done so there was no rush for the 150.
My trailer wiring repeater box was hidden up behind the tail light so access was a bit tricky. Found the trailer brake wire (blue) coiled up and I confirmed it was the correct wire on the trailer plug. Joined some 4mm2 wire and then covered it all in corrugated conduit and ran the cable behind the rear panel and under the foot plates to the front. I cut one of the spare nipples on the passenger side grommet and pulled a twin pair of 4mm2 into the cabin, one for the towpro and one for power to other switches.
I removed the two foot plates on the passenger side and the front driver's side and the two scuff panels. Remove the glovebox, the panel under the glove box and the little fill in piece at the front on both sides of the centre console and then the panel under the steering wheel and the side trim panel to give good access. Be careful of the knee airbag of course.
I mounted the tow pro on a metal bracket that supports the brake pedal just be sure not to interfere with the brake or steering column operation and adjustments.
I used the purple wire that goes to the brake switch for brake lights and this is connected to the red wire on the towpro. Power direct from the battery through a 20A circuit breaker using one of the 4mm2 cables is connected to the black power cable going to the towpro unit. The trailer brake cable is connected to the blue wire. And then earth was connected to the chassis.
I mounted my remote in one of the blank switch spots on the RHS. So I have compressor, rear locker and towpro as the top three. I looked at other options but I just couldn't find a better place. The other side has only one blank and it will be winch isolator.
Fitting the towpro remote to one of the switch blanks isn't a straightforward job. You need to trim the blank down and take off all the clips and excess plastic until it is just a 3mm thick piece of plastic. Then I drilled it out for the remote. Without the clips the blank moves around and is loose so I made up some metal clips that sit on the side of the towpro remote and wedge the remote and blank into position. I set the blank further in than normal to recess the remote a little. I am happy with this location but it is more work than drilling the blank in the centre console as shown above. That wasn't an option for me because I have a dual voltmeter in that location. All up about 5 hours but I am a fussy bugger.
Here is the location of the remote. Not the best shot in the dark, sorry.
Oh and you cannot set up or test the towpro using a multimeter or LED trailer lights. I made up a load with a festoon bulb and that let me test everything. I don't have a trailer with brakes until the camper arrives.
The towpro is a good neat unti. Very happy to have manual mode as well as proportional control. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Awesome write up mjrandom !
I fitted mine on Wednesday, and it was a great experience for my first mod
I did not have the same issues that you faced with the switch blank being loose, as i left the 2 clips on it and the unit fits in nice and tight
Switch Blank 1
Switch Blank 2
This is it fitted
Switch Blank 3
I fitted my control unit on the passenger side behind the glove box
Control Unit
and then ran the 6mm twin up the passenger side
Cabling up passenger side
Cabling to Blue service brake wire
I tried to keep it looking as factory as possible using split tube everywhere, even though you wont see most of it
Behind the glove box
Engine Bay
It took me a while to get it done, but I am super happy with my first Mod

Good job! I didn't think the remote would fit past the clips so I cut them off! I might go and grab one of the old blanks and gut it the way you have. Then again I might leave it all alone...
All things being equal I should pick up the camper tomorrow and give the towpro a practical test.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Suddenly and almost by surprise I have the need to fit a electric brake control unit to the Prado ;D.
I do like the Redarc product and having given them a call yesterday I was pointed to they new just (launched this week) Tow Pro Elite EBRH-ACCV2 http://www.redarc.com.au/products/product/tow-pro/ . This unit seems to do it all, so I was hoping for some feed back on Redarc controllers and more specifically this new model.
Cheers
