I'd be wanting the donar vehicle too. Changing all those things on a new car isn't on. It'll never be the same as it was out of the factory.

They are rectifying your issue. Rejoice. Not many people get what you are getting so I would rate their approach as amongst the best I have heard during my time with Fair Trading.
Most just try and bodgy it back.
Enjoy - mistakes happen - now get up the Brindies!
Good luck

Doesn't matter wether it's registered green slip what ever, the bloke bought a new car so it should be new, not parts swapped over from one to the other. I agree it's probably the best he's going to get but still doesn't make it right. They f##ked up they should ware the cost of doing so. Hopefully they can at least get it back to the condition it was in when it was new.... Why not give him the new one then sell his as an ex demo ??? Then some people knowing it's an ex demo will accept a stone chip and a mark or two. I certainly wouldn't be happy and personally would be taking it further but that's me, why should they get away with it when he's out layed so much cash. Assholes comes to mind !!!!!! Not disagreeing with you, it's not good enough but the reality is as long as it's repaired back to "as new" then at least he hasn't lost anything but his time. Stressing about getting a new car which won't happen will only prolong the frustration. I've also had quite a bit to do with fair trading in my employment and it really is called "fair" for a reason, they would say it's back to as new and that's fair so case closed. Trying to take it further only frustrates you more and life's too short imo. Again as TT said at least they owned up to buggering it up and offered to restore it to new and not fob him off?

To put your mind at rest a bit Andy (well hope so anyway) we know of people who bought a new 200 series 90K plus then spent some serious coin on it at a certain well known 4wd accessory shop, bullbar, wheel carrier, brush bars, rock sliders, draws, you name it he had it fitted. What a bodgy job they did fitting the bullbar and the scratches on the rear trim when the draws were installed. He jumped up and down and they did fix it including a new bumper bar on the front. They had to cut the bumper bar to suit the shape of the bullbar there not a full replacement probably like the prado I presume. Anyway he got it back and all was good in the end but still very disappointing to happen in the first place.......Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet

The issue that I have now is that with the bar being removed I need to decide on the replacement. Tossing up between the TJM and the ARB. The thing is i liked the Toyota bar, its just a pity that it didn't match the quality in the brochure and of the two that were fitted they just didn't fit well to the car.

I am happy with the TJM bar, and think it fits the car well. But hey, everyone is different.[LEFT]Silver 150 Facelift
