I've got the service manual on CD, just have to check I can still get it to work as it's OS dependent (32-bit only IIRC). Will have a play and see what I can find.

Its OK. It was kindly passed onto me.

I did actually find on eBay the universal hardwired units for under $20. So one could choose to use that also.

Fido, I'll have a geezer at the diagrams tonight and then touch base with you.

Found this one at $11.64 it may work. Can't see myself making one for less than that price.

Have ordered one but it is weeks away for delivery and comment on suitability and quality.

Interesting note in description that "The system can unfold the side mirror automatically when opening the door before igniting the car"

        i guess they mean starting?

        Cheers

So I've read the wiring diagram and it's certainly no sweat. The chinese modules will definetly work. Cost to make your own will be the same so I guess a lot of it depends on if you're happy to wait 2-3 weeks and get the plug and play or universal unit and wire it in, or if you're impatient like me and just want to build it yourself in an afternoon.

Can someone tell me, is it a switch or is it a button?

It's a button that locks in or out, like a switch.

                              Hi All,
The module for folding mirror just arrived, I did order the window closer as well.Works really well. Window closer is plug and play thing, just install it to OBD@ connector thats it.
Now for the folding mirror, very easy to install, undo the folding mirror button switch ( one piece with power adjustment mirror right of steering wheel, then connect the module, cannot go wrong as the fitting only fits for it,there are 2 wires to install, Pink is for permanent +12V in which I connected to my CB radio wiring, the other is Green wire which you connect to a main central locking output .If you take off the plastic cover right bottom drive side next to accelerator pedal, you will see 3 connectors ,your after second grey connector, that connector has 2 green wire, take the first green top and connect the green wire from the module. and thats it. There 's no need to open the the driver side door trim or cut any wiring just tap it, done the hard work already. when you press the remote to lock, the mirror will fold, and if press the start button to accessory mirror will unfold.

I do not take responsibility for this mod, do it at your own risk.

                              Cheers
