Prado 120 Dashboard Removal

Craig, good idea. I will remember that next time. Although I did not put the key in the ignition until after I re-installed the dash. I could not see any warnings come up on the instrument panel, but I also not not have access to the engine reports so some may have popped up. I will ask my Local to have a look and see if any warnings did arise.
Fido, yes I got it out, bloody pain. The guy affixed the park distance indicator with double sided tape which took me a whole can of contact cleaner (turps and thinners took some colour off on a test area so I avoided using it) and and hour's worth of work to get cleaned.
One thing that I also looked for is a leak in my airconditioner. Put the UV glow stuff in a week ago and wanted to see if there were any leaks visible around my AC unit under the dash. Did not see anything so I need to take it in to be fixed. Blegh!
But if I can remove the dash, send it for AC repairs and then re-install the dash myself it will save me about 50% of the repair costs on the AC due to labour saving. So maybe on the next round I will get to put back the screw and bolt I missed.
I will try to get the #7 images fixed.2005 Prado VX 4.0 V6 White with some scrathes and dents and water damage and cracked bumpers and skewed nudge bar and scored roof and bent rock sliders and scratched underside and scew and bent exhaust and a whole heap of joy and fun. Lovit! - 340,000 km atm

About 3,5 hours to remove, 10 minutes victory dance and showing of said dashboard to wife and kids, and about 2 hours to put back. But that was without a clear process so it may go a bit quicker with some experience.
And yes if you can get an uncracked dash you can install it yourself without too many hangups. Just make sure the airbag goodies are working on the other dash since it is attached to the dash.2005 Prado VX 4.0 V6 White with some scrathes and dents and water damage and cracked bumpers and skewed nudge bar and scored roof and bent rock sliders and scratched underside and scew and bent exhaust and a whole heap of joy and fun. Thanks Willem, This will be of great assistance if I need to remove mine. I will print off the steps, find out what you like to eat, invite you round at 8AM for dinner and help you fill in the time until said dinner. That should allow enough time for a few pre dinner drinks and canapes.Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

Now I start with the passenger aircon vent. Remove the bolt at the bottom and then pull it out gently.'04 120 Petrol Flinders Red GXL
