Looking good mate. I'm about to mount a led light bar on a roof platform I have made. How did you run your wiring for the led light bar on the roof.

I'm actually still working on that Brendos, I'm interested in any ideas on that one.
I will post the details once I work it out.
I have used a slim led bar which I have managed to keep low enough to be able to still carry a long load (such as my fishing rod tube and Kayak)over hanging the front without damaging the light.

I have attached a closer pic.

        A big day today.
I went down to TJM and had a dose of steroids given to the GXL, pick it up this afternoon looking a whole lot tougher.
I am very happy with the result, I had not actually seen any Prados up close fitted with the Outback bar from TJM and am happy with the result so far.
I'm glad I went for the white paint job as I think it looks pretty classy, might feel a bit differently after a long road trip through swarms of bugs.

I also had the Snorkle fitted which I'm impressed with, I can not see it at all from the drivers seat.

Mate. I've been looking at a few different options for running a circuit for the roof mount light bars, Although none have jumped out at me as of yet. I've been thinking of running off the dual battery through one of the rubber grommets in the fire wall to a rocker switch on right hand side of the steering wheel and then from there under the drivers side scuff panel and up the drivers seat belt pillar to just out the top to a connector. Then I could wire the light bar with a small lead off the roof rack either through the drivers or drivers side rear door seal to another connector. That way when I don't have the roof rack mouted on the car it can easily be disconnected. This may not be suited to your needs but this would suit my set up as I only intend on having the roof platform and led light on when going on trips!

On my 100 series I was able to feed a wire up under the windscreen surround from the engine bay, it was very neat.
I can't see that being possible on the Prado so I have gone the long way around.
From the relay in engine bay I pushed a wire through the drivers side firewall grommet and then along the bottom of the door sil which is the regular way to get a wire to the rear of the vehicle. Once down the back I removed the tail light assembly and fed through another grommet to bring it out under the tail light. From there the wire runs up alongside the rear door seal to slip under the roof rail rubber which I followed all the way to the front of the roof rack. I put a Joiner plug where it pops out next to the front mount in case I want to remove the rack.
the only place you can see the wire is where it runs up alongside the back door seal but once the door is closed it is well protected.
It sits there nicely but I still might secure it in place with a few blobs of white silicone.

Yes, if you cant get it up the side of the windscreen like with the 120, up the back like you've done is next best route. Def use some dobs of silicone and secure it down with some tape for a couple of days or so until it cures properly.

It has been a while since I have updated and I have just completed some work to the rear cargo area which turned out pretty well so I thought I would post the details.

I have no need for the third row of seats so I decided to remove them and take advantage of some additional space.
I'm guessing this is a fairly common mod but this is how I went about it.
The easy bit was removing the seats, they're surprisingly heavy so I decided to weigh them and they tipped the scales at a touch over 50kgs.

So after gutting the seats out I was left with a clean slate but I needed to neaten things up a bit.

Using 20mm marine ply I shaped up a panel to fill in the area from the door seal to the back of the seats.
I secured this down using 8mm "nut rivets" and counter sunk bolts.

To keep things neat I have retained the side trims on both sides but I still had to find some way of tidying things up.
I cut out some more marine ply to fill the cavity between the base panel and the side trims.
These have been screwed to a short section of alloy RHS using 6mm "nut rivets" and counter sunk bolts.
The alloy RHS has been bolted onto the base panel using T-nuts.

Once I had everything fitting as I needed it, I carpeted the base panel and the side panels.
Photos of finished product in the next post.
All in all I am happy with the result, all that I have added comes in under 10kgs for a total weight loss of 40kgs but more importantly I have gained 110mm of total height in the cargo area. that should make accessing the fridge much easier.
Now to chose a fridge slide and think about some drawers.
