    Gday checkers
I cant believe it I owned a teracan some years ago as well. Got rid of it because of the way it steered. Hopeless.
Looks like i'll have to do the same with the prado
    It's a pity, my 2002 90 series steered perfect, a great 4X4 & I regret trading it on my current 150.
If anybody has managed to improve there 150 steering please share.
    thanks for all you replies.

I have a 2012 150 VX and the steering when compared to my 90 series Prado is rubbish.
No feedback at all. Dead! My 90 series, one could feel the changes in the camber of the road and make the correction automatically. With the 150, there is so little feel, you have to concentrate on the road all the time.
It is not relaxing to drive at all.
I explained this to my service dealer, Busselton Toyota and asked if anything could be adjusted to provide some feedback. Negative, I'm afraid.
My steering feels heavy on centre and requires something of a 'push' to move it just slightly so as to maintain your line
My old Prado was so much nicer to steer.

I've had mine for 4 1/2 years and never thought of the steering as rubbish but now that you mention it, yes it is light and yes it lacks a little in the feedback department and no I don't find it tiring at all. Only vehicle I have driven for over twelve hours and still felt ok to go further.

Gd'ay G.Johno I'm not the only one disappointed with how their 150 steers. I have been thinking of throwingmoney
at it in the way of experimenting with new shockers, suspension changes & different wheel alignment
specs but I think I would be wasteing my time & money, it's just the way they are.
I test drove a 2 year old stock Hilux the other day & it drove & steered beautifully. It might be the
          way to go.

Take a 2014 model for a drive first, this was one of the major changes.

              Symo, +1 here
I had a good drive in a 2012 150 and was ready to move on to something else.
the MY 14 is much better IMO

Gd'ay all. What this shows again it doesn't pay to rush in & buy a new model of any brand. But for toyota to design a vehicle with such major
issues is beyond me. When will they learn ? Would I trust toyota again. Maybe. Maybe not.

I just put new tyres (LT construction) on my 2014 GXL and this small change effected the steering more than I thought. I has more feedback and feels more positive to drive. Putting this down to the heavy side walls of the tyre.

I had same experience as Kenny5000, with standard tyres was very light steering.
But with A/T tyres much more solid feel, I don't see its a big issues as others.
Whilst I miss some of the 90 series basics, overall 150 is much better for my requirements today.
For example I miss the key start and old school rotary dial for aircon, but 150 drives beautifully on long
                    trips.

I have an early 150 and I certainly don't have "such a major issue"

When I replaced the tyres I just used the same again because they meet my needs and I like both the drive and the ride.

The only change I have made was to add airbags to the rear suspension for when I tow but they make no difference when run at minimum pressure without the camper.

I find it a very comfortable long legged cruiser and don't find it at all tiring to drive it all day.

I'm sorry you don't have a good experience but I don't think it is a fundamental fault exhibited in all examples.

Understand this is an old topic but you're so right, i drove my mate 2014 model and it's very comfortable/safe feeling on the FWY. My 2012 steering feel too light on the FWY, any slight movement and the car next to you think that you're merging without looking/indicating.
There has to be a way to fix this, Toyota dealer wont acknowledge this issue though!

Interesting. I fitted FJ rims & tyres and haven't noticed it as much since.

I just brought a 09 150 series and have foundfthe steering the same, very touchy and light. Would a heavy duty steering stabilizer help at all?

Get a wheel alignment done, and put as much positive castor on as possible. That'll help keep it centered and stop it wandering.
If you've has a lift done it may limit the amount of castor you can put on though.
                                Can't we just keep travelling?
