BP 51s are independently adjustable in the rebound and compression, not one or the other or both at the same time. The BP 51s are also a By Pass shock absorber (hence the name BP) with a remote res as compared to other brands which are like the old OME LTR, which were just a shock with a remote res.
The OME BP 51s are also completely rebuild-able and come with a much better warranty period over the other brands too

But please do read all the information on the website and visit an ARB store and anyone that has been to the product seminar should be able to give you all the information you need
Indeed, King shocks do not compare at all to BP51. King make the best shocks in the world, I doubt you will find many who disagree with this.

      Yes Whitey
      your right
King Shocks are the best in the world, i sell all brands of shock for racing and service them all as well
i have sold so many it's not funny, and have only had to repair 1 shock ( off a race car ) and i havent serviced any in under 3yrs
only thing is half these guys spend good money on cheaper products first procrastinating on the fact they are very expensive
only then to spend the money after 40,000km anyway

wait till these other shocks come time to rebuild them and see what the seals are what oil is in them and what help you will get from the company

That's a good point right there Razorback. I wonder if ARB are setup to rebuild their own kit?

As Kings shocks (and Icons/ Fox etc) are not that common on Prados, can you give us your thoughts on say
          1. The advantages over Bilsteins or similar shocks etc
          2. Do the remote reservoirs make that big a difference in the real world
          3. What sort of price difference compared to say a Bilstein are we talking.

          Cheers

            Hi Robert

the King shocks are a 2.5" shock over most others are only 2"
they come with adjustable front springs
            and are fully rebuild-able
            gas pressures can be adjusted

the after market shocks with remote reservoirs have the gas separate from the oil
            this has 2 effects
1st it doesn't aerate the oil
2nd takes longer to get the oil hot enough to change the viscosity and start to fade
and if they do fade they will come back after they cool off

every now & then it is a good idea to "hang" your normal shocks to get the gas back up the top of the piston

King shocks with Adjusters front & rear run around the $4450 mark and without adjusters $3750 plus delivery to wherever
you still need a pair of rear coils

Kings are now being fitted for remote area heavy transport as they are getting 10 times the life on the trailers saving heaps in repairs

the only thing i cant get them to modify is the brackets for the reservoirs, they were made for std set up ( no ARB bars & recovery points
but i have made templates for that so can be done by the customer

if there is some interest i can look into some deals

G'day PP'ers! Long time... I fitted BP-51's to my 200 series and they are bloody unreal. Did a 10,000km outback trip and corrugations have never been so easy. Highly recommend them and worth every cent. All the best!

Has anyone had these fitted to a Prado 150 yet? Been out on the market for about a month.

                    Cheers

Member Jennings has just put some in. They're off doing a few weeks through NT and Kimberley at the moment. I'm sure he'll have some feedback when they get back

Jennings has been running them last I heard he was very happy with them.
Not sure if he is on here much.

Here I am, bit late I suppose but I have been running them since September from new and have racked up 28,000kms on them. Pretty good gear. I think mine were 3.5k fitted and aligned from memory. They were lovely on the corrugations through the NT. The adjustability is great too, I adjust them depending on how much load I am carrying and the terrain. Every click makes a noticeable difference. I had the OME nitro's in my 120 series and these are Definately a better setup but at a substantial cost
