I went through this all a while back and now just recently again. Penrite now list oil for the gearbox and transfer and I used them this time. Last time I used the equivalent Nulon products and when I drained them last week, there wasn't any metal filings on the magnet on the drain plug. When I was first stuck and there was no listing for the 150 I used the oils for the 120. Same drive train and engine, so I thought, why not! Here's what I used this time:

I'm running all Royal Purple oils in my 150. Been using them in all my cars for about 13 years and performance of the oil is excellent in my stock V8 LS1 and my pushrod V6 that runs 28psi, so running it in my Prado was a given.

I think you are right about Castrol oil LSX90 my 120 prado had noisy lsd clutches at about 50000ks and Toyota rebuild the rear diff under warranty , then just before I traded it on a 150 at 125000ks the clutches were starting to make noise again , it had Castrol LSX 90 in the rear diff all this time

Whaty's the long term experience?

Have real trouble figuring out what is in the transfer case of a 150 series MY2014, auto. None of the Toyota dealers in Melbourne stock "Toyota Genuine Transfer Gear Oil LF", and now regretting to have drained the transfer case before ensuring available supplies or the existence of an equivalent. Penrite does not list Pro Gear as compatible. ss-ss, what has been the long term success with it in the transfer case? I used it in my old Prado, but the OEM fluid that came out of the transfer case of the 150 did look a lot more like ATF (clear red and thin) and not like the slightly more golden-murky looking gear oils of the diffs. Any feedback greatly appreciated.
