    Not sure.
I can drive through the same corner at a slow speed with no issue, but that same corner at a higher speed and the computer kicks in...

It's a software issue. The speed might be triggering he fault, but it isn't the fault. The fault is the VSC operating with the vehicle in full control and none of the slip sensors actually slipping. I would say it's related to the steering or yaw sensor which must think the driver is pointing the vehicle in a different direction to the yaw sensor despite the fact it isn't.

        Well, the saga continues.
I booked the car into my local Toyota dealership, explained the problem, gave them a solution and basically they said, "what would you know your not a Toyota expert now fugger off". I'm really not impressed with their service. They booked the car in and they didn't even put it on the scan tool. Can you believe that? They took one look at the 70 profile tires and dismissed the issue as being totally due to the tire size. This was the response that I was expecting from them even though it was not what I wanted. So, the issue has not been resolved. I am going to write a email to Toyota corporate about their blatant disregard of the issue and unwillingness to even try and resolve the problem.
My next step is to have my friend, who's a Toyota tech to "borrow" the scan tool so we can do the job ourselves. I'll let you guys know how it pans out.

Thats unfortunate! I would go somewhere else for sure! Your friend seems like a good option! Maybe even book into where he works!

Do you know someone else up there with 265/70R17 without the problem? That really is poor service. Even though I haven't experienced the problem like your guys have mentioned I did a recal on mine the other day. Didn't take too long to do, but didn't notice anything different.

I am on 265/70R17 Pirelli Scorpion ATR LT tyres (Toyota Prado 150 VX 2014 build). I don't have this particular issue.

I also tend to drive harder/faster than most so my style of driving would have encountered this problem.

I think it could be also caused by some 4wd tyres which are being fitted simply not offering enough traction/grip. There is only so much electronics can do if tyres don't perform. Tyres are the most important safety feature in the car as they are the only contact between car and the ground. Choosing long lasting/long mileage tyres will probably result in getting a low traction and low safety?

Alright everyone. I have sorted the problem. Lets back up a bit for a sec. After I complained to the Toyota website about the dealer not wanting to deal with the problem, I got a call from Toyota Aust and I had a bit more of a whinge. They said that they were very sorry and to go back to the dealer and they would sort the issue. Now, they re calibrated the yaw rate and steering angle sensors and said " oh yer there is an ECU update for larger tires, but we have to download it from Toyota before we can install it. So back I went next week for the ECU update, which cost me $90. Now the car flies around corners and the TCS will only activate when slippage is detected. The problem is now fixed. Its amazing what a little prodding can produce.

thats great news!! 100% proof to anyone in here that has the traction or stability control come on without wheel slippage that they need to get things re calibrated/updated!!

I'm glad thats solved for you!

Have exactly the same handling problem with my 150 and response from local dealer. Phoned Toyota Australia just now who stated I had to deal with the local dealer. They didn't seem to be interested that at least Cairns seem to have been provided with the necessary upgrades.
Does anyone have contacts with Toyota Aus or a dealership in Tassie or Victoria who may be able to help?
