mine incorporates a mounting plate on either side of the chassis (sandwich type) and utilise existing holes. no welds as it would make it illegal...
seems pretty strong, im 90+kgs and not once does it feel like giving way and have also had more than 3 blokes on it at one stage trying to keep the weight on one side
main thing for me is that it protects the right places (sill and sides from high rutt walls)

can try take a pic for you guys later

So, I am about to hit the button on a set of colour codes ARB side steps for my 150.
Question, does these ARB items, increase or decrease clearance under them? Or are they about the same as the stock steps?
      Quoted, $1200 installed.
D4D Prado GXL - 2014. 2" OME lift, ARB Deluxe Winch bar, ARB under body protection plates, ARB EZ Deflator, Weaco fridge, Matsen fridge on slide, BFG A/T's, ARB CKMA12 compressor, Oztrail side awning with LED lights PLUS canvas extension, Lightforce XGT's.. Oricom UHF380, GME AE4017

If you factor in the brackets underneath, they sit lower (therefore decrease clearance). The WAF was also dropped considerably after the ARB steps went on as they are not as wide or usable as the OEM ones for "step" purposes, but she got over that when we started using them as sliders...

IMHO, if your not fitting brush bars don't color code the steps, the paint peels off too easy. If you are fitting brush bars, you got a bloody good price!

So which steps are the widest as looking at the ARB ones they are quite narrow, compared to the photos of the TJM or OL steps I have found.

I am looking for at side steps and brush bars, but want ones that will be a good step and give the most protection to the side of the Prado from stones flicked up by the front tyres. Currently leaning towards the OL ones but the Rassler ones look interesting as well but can't see any good photos showing how wide they are.

Did anyone ever get Ironman steps or MCC?

They both seem very cheap for the money.

OL have their own steps for the 150, which are not on their website yet but look the same as their side steps for all the other cars.

I can take pics once they are installed next week.

                  Nik,

                  How did the install go?

Any chance of some pics and some of the underneath and mountings.

Are they superior engineering stealth sliders? They looks good! Especially in white!

Nah mate, they're my own design. I saw some of the superior ones the other day and they do look similar but are mounted differently to mine. I've been really happy with them. Not a fan of the tube style ones anymore so this is a bit different to the sidesteps you normally see around the traps.

For those wondering, the installation of my Opposite Lock gear is set in stone for next week on thursday 3/09. I'll post pics on thursday night.

I delayed it a few weeks so I could have suspension installed at the same time.

                                Quote from my buildup thread:

Here's the sidebar mounts. Don't know if this is the strongest way of doing it (I'm uneducated in this stuff, and they're not rock slider bars as far as I can tell) but a rock impact on the side would probably be fine, and it'd definitely be better than the original steps!
