Final one for a while. Two different tracks. The first was a simple forest track that crossed a bridge. On an earlier recce, VK has added some logs to make the bridge wide enough. But when we got there the log had been cut. It can be seen to the edge of the picture, so the group decided to bypass through the creek. The first group started to go through but it was felt that it would take too long with groups 2 & 3, a total of 26 vehicles to get through so they turned around.

Second part is a few sections of the Swanston Track that runs between a military live firing range and a nature reserve. Literally on either side of the track. The silver 120 in this is stock standard with HT tires and it didn't get stuck once. Just goes to show that even in stock form the Prado is a great truck...

Still sorting my way through all the photos, but here are a few of mine from the first day on the tracks.

A few from the forest tracks we took to get to the beach.

The line up on the beach.

The remains of a dead whale on the beach, not something I have ever seen before. It was very wobbly when poked, but wasnt overly smelly, but you wouldn't want to puncture it I reckon

And a nice view at the top of the dune, one of many many nice views for the trip.

            Cheers Andrew

Transit day Myrtle Park to Weldborough

Some more pictures, these from the first transit day from Myrtle Park to Weldborough.

Our group, led by Sam and Ashley.

Smoko was at Legerwood where there are some pretty cool tree carvings, just one of the many places in Tassie that has these.

After stopping for some cheese tasting (and a few purchases) at Pyengena we headed the short distance up the road for the short walk into St Columba Falls, which was well worth the effort.

And the line up somewhere along the way before reaching camp.

              Cheers Andrew

Looking back though these photos & videos ( thanks neil) , what a great time we had . Wish we were still there like you Derek you lucky buggar. Tasmania is sooooo much better than work. Not just the 4wding but the friends we made around the campfire made it a fantastic time. I'll have to pull my finger out soon & work out how to post photos & video as I usually use my phone and tapatalk for photos cause it's too easy & all photos are on SLR. Thanks again to the committee . ( and tasmania's cheese & wine which we're still enjoying)
