I thought I read on here somewhere that Bridgestone D697 in 265/70x17 fit under the cover but I can not seem to find it anywhere now. Can someone confirm if they fit please.

G'day guys, sort of a newby to the site.. I've got 265/70-17 dick cepek fc2.. Wheel cover does fit over it, on the 150.. But we use a spare wheel rubbish bag when traveling, so have left the cover in the shed.. Sort of permanently... Thought if a tyre is a certain size, that's it.. Don't see how this tyre and that tyre are the same size, but they are not.. How's that work? Cheers Odog

Saw a 150 today with BF Goodrich A/T's and the spare wheel cover was on. Don't think anyone would be stupid enough to buy only 4 tyres so seems BFG's might fit inside cover as well.

I have BF Goodrich A/T 265/70 R 17 ko on my 150 Prado and my cover don't fit. What you saw was probably 265/65/17.

There sure are a lot of stupid people around with mis matched spares, size is what I'm talking here too. It's nothing to see a car with 33s and a standard spare

My 265/70 17 Ko2 AT's definitely don't fit under my cover (MY14 150). unfortunately, as Andy said, there's no shortage of stupid around.

I have BFG AT KO 265/70R17 and the cover fits. However, have reduced the pressure of the spare to 25psi, and it still takes time to get the cover on bit by bit by bit... Permanently mounted compressor under the drivers seat so can always top up the spare when it's needed.

Has anyone managed to fit BFG AT KO2's in 265/60R18 (stock size for Kakadu) under the cover?

                        Cheers,

                        David.

Has anyone tried the Mickey Thompson STZ in a 265/70x17? Going off the list on page 1 of sizes that do fit and the specs for this tyre (803mm OD) it looks like they might fit.

I've just put the 265 70 17 K02 on mine and it fits under the cover. The cover doesn't sit back perfectly but still clips in and won't come off. The tyre shop was real nice they fitted the spare first and if it didn't fit I wasn't going to purchase any tyres and they completely understood. They did say for some reason some prados the K02 do fit and some don't need to try b4 you buy I say. Best of luck.

Did they remove any of the rubber pads inside the cover to make it fit?

No they didn't but I might try take the cover off again and have a play around with it to try to get it to sit perfectly. Maybe remove the rubbers you reckon?
