That’s why I had petrol, bought a diesel (believed all the hype on how great they are, spent more on the diesel in two years then I have in 12 on the petrols), sold that and had another 2 petrols since. Unfortunately for me this will be my last Prado (4th one) as they have dumped the petrol engine from the Prado range and I won’t buy diesel, and I’ve read of only one so far that’s had injector issues but quiet a few with DPF issues.Face lift 150 Prado V6 auto. There's good evidence that the last of the 150's with the 3ltr engine are ok (new style injectors etc) and if you swapped out your injector's around 120,000km's your also ok. The 3ltr diesel is a good motor when looked after the right way (including no performance chips). I'm happy with mine and plan to keep it for many years.
No excuse for Toyota though, they should be held responsible for D4Detonations.2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D Auto

The last of the D4Ds with revised pistons and last edition injectors are much better. Not sure if all solved and not sure of the injector life but better. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
