has any one else with the erg plate fitted running this obd2 device got the egr fault coming up when fault scaning
i had the engine light come on when towing a caravan ( was pulling at 100k and up a long hill when it came on)
egr fault code , so cleared it with the obd2 and now when running with out any thing on it dosnt lock a fault but picks up the egr as a fault
thinking of drilling the hole out a little more 7 mm at the moment
        any suggestions

          Hey guys,

All these days, I am trying to find a solution to connect the OBD2 to my LC120 (manual transmission with the 6 gears)
I also tried the suggestion from amts to use the Torque pro and put the setting ATIB 96 \n ATIIA 13 \n ATSH8213F0 \n ATSP4 \n 0100 but it didn’t work either…
Today I installed in my laptop the Scan Master ELM for windows.

Actually, Scan master ELM found the ECU (at least I think so) since I can read the below in the staring screen.
          ECU detected: $7E8 – CAN-ID ECU #1
          ECU Connected  ISO 15765-4 (CAN 11/500)

The point is that it doesn’t exchange any info so these is no outcome after all.
Unfortunately, I cant find the specific settings field to use also the suggestion of amts but I really don’t think that it could make any difference…

Do you have any idea what could be done to connect it? I have started losing my patience with this sh*t…

Last but not least, a fiend with another LC120 told me that In Australia, you have another version of LC120 with smaller engine (2500cc) and this might be the reason that it works to you and not to me.... Just for that, let me state that mine is the 3000cc with the 167hp (KDJ120L-GKFEYW) My fiend's car is also not recognizable…

Your Prado is already OBD2 and should not need the special text string. Perhaps the device you have is faulty.

In Australia, we have a petrol 4 cyl 2.7L which stopped selling after a short period of time. The 4L V6, 1KZ and 1KD are the more common engines. The 1KD is the same as yours.

At last! my obd works with my 2004 toyota prado (1KZ-TE) with the Torque app. Still the L/100km readings are a bit strange, i hope these wonderful people that discover this will find the way to get the consumption sensors work

Got it to work on my Sept 04 1kz today Andrew. Now just need to play around with it to see what sensors work. There doesn't seem to be many available but it's interesting none the less. I'll also set up a profile on my 2010 hiace too to see what that can do.
                  Cheers

I've noticed that the third option for the auto trans temp gives the exact same reading as the coolant sensor.
                      Cheers

The only gauges I use on mine are intake air temp, coolant temp, boost pressure and rpm.

Hi, Thanks for the great info. I am having trouble with my self leveling suspension system and wondering if it will pick up a faulty sensor ? Its proving quite a challenge to fault find.

What exactly is the issue? Probably just leaky airbags. Are they still the original airbags?

Hi Guys, this is great info thanks to all the contributors. I'm a newb so this stuff helps a lot. Any chance this little unit gives the o2 sensor readings?

                              regards Jon
