  • Push button 4WD prado trasfer case to put in D4D Hilux

    G'day guys.

First time here, so pls go easy on me :P

I was just wondering if the Prado transfer cases are the same size/shape and same mounting positions as those in the hiluxes?
Reason being that I'd like to put an AWD (push button 4WD) transfer case in my hilux. This is purely for driving on loose gravel and on wet roads and light off road. Lot's of people would probably argue that it's pointless but I'd like to do it nonetheless. Low range AWD would be handy for towing and launching the boat as well.

I don't want to modify the vehicle to make it happen but if it's as simple as bolting in and hooking up a switch, then I'm keen to do it.
The other question I have is - are the gear ratios the same in the Prado transfer cases.
What type of centre diff do the transfer cases have, just an open diff or?
I have lift and bigger tyres so if I could get a transfer case with lower gearing, it would save me having to change the gearing in both of my diffs.

My ute is a 2013 D4D automatic, flat tray, dual cab hilux.
