    No problems,

Your UHF antenna should of come with a PL259 jack (UHF antenna plug), just crimp/solder that onto the other end of the "extension cable" you make up. Make sure you either slide a bit of heat shrink or wrap some electrical tape over the FME connector to both keep the connection clean and insulate the ground side.

    Cheers,

Nice setup but I'm a little concerned that your range has been compromised, especially forwards, because the antenna sits so low?

Antenna bracket looks a little close to the arc of the rear wiper blade. Is that just the camera angle?

            Hi Ben,

Thanks a heap for your inspiration! I have made a bracket that is VERY similar for my 120.

I used 0.95mm thick gal and gave it a spray with some satin black anti-rust type paint.

It disappears into the dark window and I am really happy how the GME looks on there. It sits at the same height as the highest point of my rack which is exactly what I wanted.

The only trouble I've had is a front to back wobble! it's not a vertical wobble, it holds the weight of the aerial easily. My auto elec fitted a thick steel bracket to the top arm for extra rigidity but I think this extra weight only compounds the problem. The movement seems to stem from the 2 horizontal folds down behind the wheel.

Should I have used a thicker gauge gal? Or maybe some sort of foam/rubber chock between the bracket and window?

              Nice work!

What I did was put in some packing between the bracket and the tyre and that stopped the majority of the wobble.

I’m looking to move my GME antenna from the bull bar to the roof or rear door.

The broomstick antennas I have (2.1 and 6.6) are annoying to the front passenger.

Preferably I’d put the antenna on the rear door. I’ve looked at the Kaymar version. I think that will be too low as I want the antenna to exceed the height of the roof. Has anyone got a solution for this?

Maybe I’m better to just put in it in the roof rack???
