Hi all,
I had a search, but couldn't find any similar questions or answers on my problem.
So, I bought a 120 Prado, 07/2003 build, 4ltr V6 Auto... and the remote on the key's wouldn't work, the seller said he just hadn't had them programmed.... yea right.
So, I too it to Toyota to ask them to program the keys for me, but the said they couldn't talk to the ECU with their scan tool.
I'm an ex mechanic, so I have my own simple scan tool, and it cant communicate with the ECU either.
So, my question is: The vehicle runs fine, all functions are operational and it runs like a dream. But, I cant talk to the ECU.
Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be the ECU or something more simple?
(I've visually checked the wiring behind the OBD2 plug, and they all seem un-damaged etc, and I'm not keen on having to do continuity tests on every cable between the ECU and the OBD2 plug if anyone else has come up with a similar problem?
Thanks in advance.
Steve
