As soon as the custom intercooler is in I would like the remapping done.

While I agree with the sentiments expressed here about morality, it is immoral to design an engine to shit itself on its own waste. For me having an engine go at 76,000km its case closed.

Only if there's an issue with the engine or ECU. They don't check the ECU as part of normal servicing, all they do is change the oil and filters and kick your tyres if you are lucky.

Mines been tuned, goes like shit of a shovel!, EGR turned off, time will tell, but everything seems good, coolant according to scan gauge, is no hotter then standard :-)

Atm it goes back through the egr, even with the 7mm hole it whistles through under pressure.

Ozimacca and Prado Steve are both correct.
IMO we need a balance, it only takes a small amount of hot exhaust gasses to cool combustion. With egr flow reduction mod, 7mm hole it still gets a small amount of hot air, But is still able to reduce the soot to acceptable levels.

Anyway seems a lot of coin for a plug in remap/reflash.
            Hello boys,
I'm quite interested in the re mapping by Infinitech.com from what I've read about various tunes ,chips and exhaust , catch cans, they seem quite reasonable,
All done in one go ??

They do have a question section about your vehicle so for you guys in the know what would be your questions of concern about the 1kd IE , where does the boost go when EGR is fully closed , the same question could be asked about OZBUSH'S full blanking plate , but I don't know that's why I'm asking.
            Cheers Alan.

The ecu is open for retuning, so you can set it up for more power or economy, more power = more fuel & higher egt, economy = slower, so which do you prefer? The vehicle is currently set up for the best of both, emissions & longevity. Obviously the egr left standard is a BIG problem. But you don't have that issue.

Well ive had the tune done back in february and the results are impressive, more power and torque, the prado holds its gears longer so not dropping down as much (towing), the engine temp is the same as before on the scan guage. They do not open the ecu, they plug in a laptop and put in new parameters to what type of tune you want. With my tune for more torque and the egr turned off (at 0%) it had a slight hesitation when accelerating so in the end had the egr at 10% max opening and the hesitation was gone. One of the best things i have done to the prado with better fuel economy of about 100-150km per tank. Agri Tune done the tune and very happy with the set up.

                                Cheers Derek
