  • 2017 get together general chat

Welcome. Everyone can post here to talk about anything to do with the 2017 Pradopoint GTG.

It has been decided to call this one "Border to the beach, a taste of the Kimberley".
Thanks to Bushbasher for his creative input on this.

Provisional start 5th June 2017 in Kununurra WA. Ending in Broome WA around the 19th June 2017. These dates are still subject to change, although probably not by much. These dates do not coincide with any states school holidays, sorry.

We will be conducting a reccie from Kununurra from about the 24th May this year, if anyone is in the area they are welcome to tag along. We have already got an itinerary planned out but need to confirm it will work. We will be visiting potential accommodation providers and points of interest along the way.

    So, Lets chat........
    Can't we just keep travelling?

Still in the planning stages of this!

I might become very familiar with the roads up there, as we have friends that are getting married in Broome just before the GTG....

Looking at how to fly the Prado and camper to the starting point of the 2017 GTG but the cost may make it not worth it so wil have to drive. Bring it on!

And you're probably too tall for the GSR Motorail. So straight up the middle, meet us in Alice and we'll convoy across the Tanamai.

I don't have the book but did purchase the paper map when there was talk of the 2017 GTG.

Thanks for the offer and will keep it in mind.

The rough plan at this stage was for me to drive straight up the middle to Darwin, to allow the kids to have as much time in school as possible, then have the family fly into Darwin and then take two days to drive to the start of the GTG.

It is only $200 dearer to fly the family than to put them on the boat with me.
