  • What models body parts fit my 2002 prado

Panel beaters! Prado gurus! Talk to me!

I have a white 2002 prado 90 glx that now has front end damage in Perth. It's written off and previously I was traveling/living in a combination of it and Oztent gear.

Ok I've had nearly 50 views and no replies.. Perhaps I should get more to the point... Will a 98 prado radiator support panel fit my 2002 prado including the radiator, oil cooler, condenser? What about the bonnet... What other years will fit straight on?

I have found a few cheapie witch have good front ends in the eastern states and are considering buying one and trucking it over, as I've found a mobile/backyard panelbeater willing to do the work for around $48 ph.

My first question is. Which models are compatable with mine. I need to cut out the radiator support panel, rhs fender, headlights, bonnet, and may need a few other bits, radiator, air cleaner housing, oil cooler, condenser.

I don't want to buy another vehicle and get it here and nothing fits.

I bought this car and did many mods to it based in the great knowledge base that is prado point forum and I'm hope there's a prado body/panel guru or 2 who can help me with this riddle.

Also any tips on getting a drivable wreck trucked from east to west on the cheap.

Or any panel beaters in the west who are keen for a bit of work. The guy I'm dealing with is a nice bloke but seems a little indecisive.

I have plenty of pics of before and after if necessary.

Before everyone says it's not worth fixing, I've heard that plenty of times and I won't know that for sure until I explore all the options with all the info.

    Cheers
    Troy

    That's a big hit.
I would think any 90 series should fit without to much to worry about.
Doubt any later models will fit.
$48/ hr for mobile/backyard ear is up there to me.
If he is indecisive I would be wary as you don't want to be paying for him to learn or fumble his way through the job.
    Is chassis bent?
If not I can't see it being a huge job.
I can also understand your attachment to a car you have built to your needs.
Interested to see how you get on.

Do yourself a favour and get the chassis bench tested before you spend money on it iv been there before what looked like reasonably minor corner damage on a 90 fender inner fender turns out the chassis was bent looking at it it looked dead straight
Iv seen your car on gumtree
All the body parts are the same except lights and grille they are early/late specific

        Thanks for your replies guys.
There is some chassis damage (first panel beater quoted rediculous sum and included chassis damage as reason) however we have given it a rough measure up and it appears to be pretty square.

I'm curious though what is bench test?

So scottkz, if I were to say grab a 98 90 series and some 2002 headlights (mine arnt too bad actually)and a 2002 grill, I'm set for parts? Sounds pretty reasonable. I've been quoted a good price to fix the chassis.

If I can get one of these wrecks from over east at the right price and a deal on trucking it here I can get started.

I will post pics as I go.
        Thanks again!

Yep pretty much correct my car is a 96 model,i have fitted late headlights and tail lights, also changed the whole cars wiring harness to one that had climate control and traction control
Minor differences in bodys but nothing that will concern the front
Mainly a few different holes and the rear seats mount differently

A bench test is a large frame the repairer puts the car on and measures the chassis for any twisting dents or abnormalities
If you end up getting a wreck over id be interested in some parts ... Still want to find rear aircon to retrofit!
