Best value usually = poor performance. Hand in hand.

Got the light force 170's. while they have been ok I wouldn't buy them again. Too easy to flog the lenses, go brittle after a while. Currently have one holding together with a cable tie. Cheers

I use FYRLYT - halogen and australian made , old school tech done well . Spare globes are $12 OSRAM custom bipins and can be changed quickly , haven't had one fail yet and keep two spares. Good light output , and well made. Higher current draw than HID but not an issue in daily running. Good value ($500 a pair).

I think you really should post up a budget of some sorts, some won't want to spend over $200, others think $1000 is perfectly acceptable. The other thing to consider is how often you will use them and what for (highway or off-road).

Personally I didn't want to spend thousands, use mine mostly for highway, probably use them on a few trips a year and on the drive out to the in laws and because of my vision HID was not suitable. Lightforce Genisis halogen fit the bill for me, under $500, good mix of spot & spread for the highway, solid build and decent quality lens.

For $500 you could also by a LED lightbar or some cheaper HID spotties which would suit others better.

Illuminator 9" Round LED Driving Lights (pair) $219 for the pair, delivered

            4wd supacentre

I have no affiliation whatsoever with the 4wdsupacentre, but honestly, you asked for everyone's opinion on best value spotties....and my personal opinion is I couldn't go past these spot lights, and after a visit to the store....it seems hundreds of people think the same as they are absolutely selling them by the crateful...seriously.

I got a set for my new 150 and I recon they are great, they have a very solid metal case, good solid mounting, and throw a good light, and so far very good performance.....and for the price...I recon I couldn't get better value,

I personally don't believe "best value = poor performance" ...sure, cheap, nasty and poor quality often means poor performance, but "best value" does not always equate to poor performance...if you are not using spot lights every day then I recon you don't want or need the most expensive, or the best available...and when it comes to spot lights you can in fact get spot lights that are just "too bright" and the reflection off any outback road sign can be blinding..to me, these are the "best value" that I could find, and to be honest they don't look or perform like something cheap and nasty, they are doing a great job for me....certainly worth a look.

I just bought the Bushranger Nighthawk LED - there decent, for what you pay, again like all have mentioned, i couldn't justify $1500 on some lights.
i think i ended up paying $259 per light.
They just are better quality than the imports that my mate had.

I have a pair of Lightforce 170s - no issues to date.
Have a look at the Narva lights. They are a decent price, and seem to be pretty good. (I've had no personal experience with them)
I have been debating the 4WD Supacentre LEDs, they look like they would suit me perfectly. I just havent had any issues with my current lights to justify the change.

Just be aware with the Narva lights, some had an issue with coating on the reflector peeling off. Not sure if they have fixed them yet or not. Not every set did it, just seemed random ones did. The ones that didn't peel are a good light, and fairly priced. This is just what I've seen on various customers vehicles.

I thought post 6 & 8 above were providing feedback???

I have IPF 900's and wouldn't buy them again. For the price I think there are better out there and LED has certainly come a long way in quality and price.

We have fitted a few of the Illuminator driving lights at our workshop and are quite impressive and great value for money. The only thing I will criticize, is the power consumption vs output. By memory, I did a current draw test on the illuminator 9", and they drew around 25 amps. I personally prefer HID driving lights. Yes they take time to intense the light, but they draw less power and I find, they provide better illumination at longer distances. Combine an led light bar with HID driving lights, and its like driving around in daylight.

I agree. I'v recently tried out my new 28" lightbar with the HID spots. Unbelievably bright. The HID's give distance and the lightbar fills in up to what looked like 1km or more.
