    Do you really need spotties?
Why not try a light bar?

Can you redrill the holes? Or weld on a bracket to move the mounting point forward?

How much depth do you have? (centre of mounting hole to grill)

        Thanks Guys,

Not fussed with light bars due to lack of projection down the road.

Trying to avoid redrilling holes if possible as it is a work vehicle and I am not sure if welding onto an alloy bar would be real successful. Options to consider though.

The depth is only about 50mm. Why they would make them like this is beyond me

        Cheers

How much projection down the road do you need? A quality bar will give you ample projection and if you really want projection, why not go a mixture of led bar and HID?

That's it. My light bar does over 500M of usable light and is probably brighter than the supercentre spotties.
I doubt the supercentre spotties do over 500M, not that you need to see that far anyway.
If you did you might as well go HID or Fyrlyts.

On my existing work vehicle (150 gxl) I have been running the 9" illuminators and have been very happy with them. we have just purchased new vehicles (150 gxl) but the commercial decision has been made to have these installed with Toyota original alloy bars. Now have the problem that there is not enough room between the bolt holes and the grill to install the 9" illuminators so am looking to see what alternatives are out there that give good performance.
I am a led (round) convert but due to their need to have heat management in the body design it looks like I may have to go back to halogen unless someone has gone through the process and has some ideas on alternatives.
Have been searching on the net but possibly not using the right terms as haven't had much luck as yet.

Can anyone help or provide advice?

              Thanks

What about the super centre 7" LED round lights

                Thanks All,

Looks like the decision has been made for us by our fleet management people and we are going to be going with fyrlyts with some adjustment on the bar so that they fit. Hope they don't stick out too far at the front

                Cheers

                  Hi Rodt,

How did the fyrlyts go? any chance of a picture?

I've got the same set up and am trying to come up with some round options as well.

                  Regards

Just picked up an Aldi light bar. It seems to include all the wiring looms. Has anyone installed this particular light bar? Any feedback, knowing that people have mentioned cheap vs expensive vs good value light bars. Again these may be used very few times, so as long as it does a reasonable job for the short while it may be fine. Main aim is to get some extra light when driving out in country side and not on a main highway.
D4D. How long will it last?

G'day Damien, Sorry mate didn't see your post until just now. They are all fitted and have attempted to insert some pics. Don't have any of them at night though.

Basic review and just an opinion with no facts to back it up but I am actually not that impressed with these lights. I much preferred my led cheapies that I had on my previous vehicle. A pity as these seem to have good reviews. I find that the 'yellow' light of halogens bulbs now seem to blur ahead with long grass on the side of the road. I have also found with these that when you turn the bulb sideways for spot effect that they light up the road too close to the vehicle and up in the trees.
As said my opinion only and like rear ends, everyone has one

                      Cheers
