  • Rotor and Brake Pad Recommendation ?

I need to replace my brake pads and back rotor but thought I just dot it all at the same time. Taking cost out of the equation I have narrow it down to this

    Rotors:
    DBA T2 Slotted Rotors DBA2736S (Front) + DBA2737S (Rear)
    DBA T3 Slotted Rotors DBA42736S (Front) + DBA42737S (Rear)
    OEM/ Toyota Rotors 43512-60190 (Front) + 42431-60311 (Rear)

    Breakpads:

    - Bendix 4wd Pads
    - Genuine Toyota break pads (seems like the toyota pads are rated very highly) 04466-60140 (Front) + 04465-60320 (Rear)

    Questions:
    1. Which is the best rotors, Genuine of DBA Rotors ?
    2. Does the genuine pads go with DBA rotors ?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

I replaced front and rear pads at about 120k only a couple of mm all round left on old pads. Happy with the geniune ones so replaced with the same. Rotors were still good so saved a few bucks.

Used the T2 rotors and Mr T pads.

Please check your rear discs on the inside for cracking. These are from my 120 and had close to 200000 at the time. Second set of pads and the discs had been skimmed at 120000.

Hi, thanks, would you recommend the T2 over the genuine Prado rotors? DBA believe they are superior to the standard equipment.

I was running RDA slotted rotors with RDA extreme pads. Just replaced the pads with Bendix 4wd. Lots of cold/initial bite and definite improvement on pedal feel over the RDA pads.

I was surprised how well the Mr T pads are with the T 2 rotors. Good bite and pedal feel. Not a lot of brake dust as well. They do squeak a bit reversing down the driveway in the morning, but that's the only complaint.

Thanks. I have decided to go with the T2 but really can't decide between Mr T and Bendix pads. The price difference is pretty small.

Hi guys, I'm looking at doing brakes on my 150, has anyone used wagner pads, these are recommended by dba apparently good quality or the other option I was considering was brembo pads, hoping to get away with machining rotors instead of replacing but will cross that bridge when it comes, feel free to recommend any other pads you have used and think are good.

T2 and bendix 4x4 pads all round on mine, feel very positive when you push the brakes on

I went with T2 rotors and QFM ceramic pads. Happy so far.

                          Folks,
Any current advice on pads & rotors to use? Are the T2 or T3 better?

                          SOL.

                            T3 are the more expensive.

T2 are fine for Prado unless towing a house or using it as a circuit car..
