Need some help, installed my new light bar, works fine, but half the switch always stays lit.. The words led lightbar always stay on, when you press the switch to turn it on then the picture of the bar lights up. Now I know it's not chewing too much battery but it shouldn't be on should it? Is it due to where the positives are connected to the battery? Not sure what it's called but you will know what I mean, where I've got it connect there's 4 spots to connect Are they all the same or is one of them only got power when the ignition is on?

1 of the contacts on the back of the switch is for dash light illumination. You tap into the dash lights cable/fuse. I have the same switch - you hook into the dash-light circuit, easiest way to do this is to splice the other switches close to it (there are 1 or 2 unused plugs in that area where you installed the LED bar switch) think its the green wire.
- to splice on those small wires, I do the following
-- take the soldering iron and burn the wire-insulation a bit, pop it off with your nail.
-- solder the new wire into it and use some electrical tape to tidy it up.Comment

Is it where I have the power for the switch connected. Both the power to the light bar and power to the switch are connected to the same spot, bottom right hand side. If I separate them and move the switch power to one of the other three would that resolve it?Comment

Of the car is off ant there is no light on the switch this is correct.
If the car is on an there is a light on the switch it is probably right if you have DRL, or the other factory switches are illuminated, can be hard to tell sometimes.
If the car is on and the headlights are on then it is correct.
And f the car is on and headlights on and you switch on the switch then both should be lighting up.
Would be easier to answer if you include model and year.2015 GX Prado 3L Auto, in the process of being fitted out.Comment

The switches in the prado 12- are backlit whenever the lights are on, when you operate a
switch then the icon lights up, there are two lights in the switch in other words, if you turn
the dimmer down and they go out that is normal I would have thought and this seems to be
