I decided to have a crack at making my own:

What started off with a few left-over MDF boards morphed into something a little more involved than what I originally thought it would be. Ultimately, it was designed to suit my/our lifestyle. Admittedly, no where near polished as the commercial versions... But as the Mrs says "It'll do"...

Thanks... was a fun project though... now need to find out how it handles the rigours of on/off road travel...

Hi guys, I'm happy with the Titans, we wanted to fit a pelican case, on top of the draws, beside the fridge, but the tie down points were pulling on an angle, which looked like they were going to pull out. Ended up making a couple of brackets that fit on top. The case now slots inside the new brackets, and ties to them, won't move at all. So I've found the set up very versatile for our requirements. Big trip coming up in 3 weeks, so will see how it all holds together. Cheers guys. Odog

+1 for Drifta. An absolute pleasure from order to delivery. Drawers are fantastic quality, and very lightweight. We opted for 1 deep drawer, fridge slide with box and integrated table. Just came back from the Gulf and the drawers made an enormous difference in packing. Cost about $1700 inc. freight to Brisbane.

Another vote for Drifta. I've had mine for about 4 years now with no rattles or problems at all. These were custom made with a vertical table that is fantastic.

No cargo barrier? You'd be limited to what you could put on the top deck, missiles through the cabin other wise.

I'm designing my basic drawers at the moment, unsure if i'll stack them or not but here's my initial design (It's also my first run with cad/sketchup, so I'm hoping it's up to standard).
                  • I haven't got a rear platform in yet but I'll look to do so possibly next weekend while the wife is out of town
                  • I plan on using boat skids from bcf @ http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/p...ecommendations
                  • The battery is modelled on the extremes of this slimline 125ah battery: http://www.aussiebatteries.com.au/ba...rminal-battery - I'm undecided if I'll have two in parallel and a pure sine wave converter in there.
                  • I estimate it will cost ~$500 excluding the battery using 12mm marine ply from bunnings and bunnings carpet.
                  • I am unsure upon the latch mechanisms, battery fastenings or the other details as yet, like clearances etc, but this could be a good base design for almost anyone. With or without the battery compartment.

Here's the design... should be reasonably easy to knock up but I haven't done any wood work for 20yrs.

The corner pieces internal to the design are there to stabilise the drawers... ill probably try to rubberise them or use rubber stops somehow.

I hope this helps someone. And I'm happy to get feedback - I want this stuff to last!

I reckon it will look great!

Mine was a total Bunnings job... Used MDF because I had some left over from a previous job... Bunnings automotive carpet for the rest. But perhaps the part i loved most was that my 7 and 5 year old boys were involved in the project (yes, more work for me!)... It was as much an adventure for them as going somewhere lol!

Would you have any photos of your draw set up. I am thinking about getting the Wagon#2 package from Drifta and am wondering what it looks like in the 150 prado?

I cannot fault the ORS drawers - I have a Fridge Pack with 2 deep drawers. Able to fit everything in there, with side panel access to get to the jack, etc. Its is n bit more expensive than Drifta, but considering it is aluminium, I was happy to pay the price.
