Usually the badly cracked ones are black like so.

Its not the oil pick up,.!!

After spending 6 hours at the dealership today while they danced from one job to another, they finally got to pull the sump off, guess what the pick up was ok and not blocked. Then inspecting to sump there was metal pieces in the bottom, not alloy. They look like bits off a gear or something.

Now what? any ideas ####? They did confirm there was no oil pressure with an external gauge.

One thing is for sure thare has been a major Toyota failure! Oh what a feeling ;-(

Yes mate I was there, I was under the car when they dropped the sump, the oil was very thick! I have an oil sample.
Its not alloy, its steel, done the old magnet trick.

Something very unusual is going on.........
                  Usually caused by people.

Timing gear case may need to be removed next.

                        Cheers for your contribution Mlc.

                        Top picture left side.

Wouldn't you spew, if you spent thousands getting injectors changed & related work & they were getting put in an engine with a tiny crack, which is still on the way to failure.
Imo Piston inspection & compression test are a must when replacing injectors.
To be honest, you could even miss that small crack on inspection.
                        Rattle rattle rattle.........?

That very poor from the dealer FWD17.
If you don't hear anything next week, ask to speak to the dealer principal.

Guys slowing making arrangements to get the 120 back on the road, has been a long road though.

Looks like long engine will be the go ;-)

Has anyone replace their turbo with the fleabay cheaper options? Too good to be true?

There is a d4d turbo on gumtree in Adelaide at moment.
Replaced by dealer for blue smoke but it ended up being injectors.. So turbo is ok.
