Method of flushing transmission

Can someone post a pic of the filler plug on the gearbox? What i can find looks like a big grub screw with a flat tab sticking out with a 23-24mm locking screw over the top. Is this the filler? Seems strange way to do it

Depends what box you have but that doesn’t sound like a filler plug.
Mine is a 5-speed and filler is RHS well towards the rear of box, about 50mm higher than the sump gasket line.
24mm thin head hex filler plug with “O” ring seal.

On the 5 speed auto, is it the higher hose on the radiator that is the return line?

I started by removving the check plug and got 1400ml out of there, then the drain plug and got another 1750ml out.

replaced it wth 3000ml of new fluid.

Did this three times over three days with normal driving around in between.
didnt bother with check procedure at the end considering how it was when i started.

Should be good Will, if you got for a 10 min drive from cold and then park on level ground and then keep car running and crack check plug you should be within the 46-56c temp guidelines... Just remember to keep car running while you crack check plug..

hi Guys i have recently done the flush after adding a trans cooler- Kaon/Davis craig, one thing i did different was hang a funnel to the bonnet above the brake booster side and fitted a 10mm clear hose to the funnel end and ran down firewall along trans and into the filler, and made refilling easier
