Its time to change Tyres on the 120.Currently running the standard size 265/65/17 .Just wondering if it worth going to 265/70/17.The Prado is probably 70% on road. Tyres will be BFG all terrains. All thoughts considered. Thanks

Pros:- More ground clearance <>20-25 mm
Cons:- Overall roof height raised by same as tyre height increase. Clearance may be an issue.
- Sluggish on take off from a stop.
- More fuel usage. >2-3 Litres per hundred.
- Speedo may be incorrect. EG mine running 265/70 is reading 100 when im really doing 104.
- More tyre noise if aggressive tread pattern.

I wenr from 275/65 to 265/70 KO2s and fuel consumption went up sround 1L/100km in a 150 diesel. The KO2s are much heavier as well as being taller. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Our fuel economy increased by about 2ltrs/100. Worrh it for the extra clearance though as purs isn't lifted. Maybe slightly slower off the mark but it's a V6 so eho cares.2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
