My 2008 Prado has a whistling noise coming from the intercooler downpipe (?). One of the bolts holding the pipe to the intercooler has been stripped of its' thread. Actually, the bolt's OK, but the thread on the intercooler is shot.
I'm assuming the whistling noise under acceleration is coming from that. It's not turbo and it's not the exhaust.
Anyone got any ideas on a suitable repair? Do I need to replace the whole intercooler?
And can I thank everyone who posts on here for all the information I've gathered over the last year that I've been a member. It's been invaluable in giving me the confidence to do a few outback trips. Much appreciated.
